Why Oklahoma State is more deserving of a title shot than Bama

I don't know if this has been said, but what if LSU loses then plays Alabama in the NC game? Then you would have two teams that didn't even win their own conference playing in a NC game. No offense to you LSU fans out there, but I woukd love to see that just to have more ammunition vs this BCS shit show..

I never understood this mentality. Every year you got guys rooting for these dream "chaos" scenarios to unfold. If the arguments against the BCS are sound you don't need an absolute worst case scenario to validate them.

Because when you get non-chaotic years like last season (Auburn-Oregon) the BCS supporters can claim it works fine, when we would still want a playoff.

Yes there are, and those arguments exist w/o some one loss LSU vs one loss Bama "dream" championship game happening. Which was my point.

Rooting for chaos is dumb, especially considering we've had several strange situations already.

I don't think he was saying that. His point is if Alabama and LSU plays again, it would re-affirm what was already known or raise more questions in the mind of the public. Obviously if Bama and LSU plays in the NC game the winner is crowned the NC.

The point is that LSU has already proved themselves once on-the-field to be better than Alabama by beating them, so we know that LSU is better. Oklahoma State has not had the chance to prove themselves to be better/worse than LSU because they haven't played them. That is why the elimination argument works for Alabama with LSU, and not Ok St with Iowa State, the circumstances are entirely different.

Especially considering the fact that Oklahoma State has a more impressive resume, why should Alabama get another chance to play LSU when Ok St hasn't got one?

Alabama played teams like Kent State and North Texas out of conference and in conference Florida, Tennessee and Auburn were terrible this season. Those are bad teams.



Kansas State is 10-2 and pretty damn good. They'll be a force in their bowl game. And Texas A & M was playing well at the time that game was played. They have unraveled since then but you make it seem like every game is played in a vacuum and robotic players should just win by the same margin of victory every time or else they suck.

None of that matters. Don't look at the wins. Just look at each team's one loss.

That's all that matters.

There are reasons why I feel this way.

I've never watched a BCS game that doesn't involve PSU after New Years Day. Ever. I watch CFB on New Years because it's tradition. However, the BCS games that are played afterwards are completely meaningless, and the entire process that gives us the NC game is stupid IMO, which doesn't make it interesting to me.

Since I don't pay attention to these games, I'm out of fucks to give about what these matchups are. If we are stuck with matchups that completely invalidate the BCS process, great. I'm not watching anyway.

You guys defending Okla State are only looking at the wins, and not the losses. It may be true Okla State has beaten more ranked teams than Alabama, but their loss was a really bad one (losing to unranked team), while Alabama's loss was by the narrowest of margins to the undisputed beat team in the country.

Having said that, if Okla State beats Oklahoma i might put them again of Alabama. But theres no way they deserve to be ahead right now IMO.

Nah. Just because two teams play a close game doesn't necessarily mean those two teams are even in quality. And while LSU beating Bama in a one shot game doesn't really prove they're the better team either, I think you have to go with that assumption considering everything.
