Id love to put Oscar Robinson on my all-time favourites list.. he plays exactly the style of ball I like, but, in MY opinion, it wouldnt make sense. Is this so hard for you to grasp? Same goes for Bob Cousy, Pete Marovich, and even Magic Johnson, altho I got to see him play, just not as much as I would've liked to and not really in his prime. Typically, you develop a favourite player by, you know.. watching them play... on a regular basis.

In your case, you probably never even really watched Michael play other than with the Wizards.

Mike when his top teammate was Orlando Woolridge, Hakeem when he was Akeem, Payton before the 96'season when he was droppin dimes to the reign man. Dont get on these guys about their choices cuz the guys you named you barely saw.

I got to watch Kemp & Payton together.. I remember them losing to the Bulls in the finals. Shawn Kemp was my dude. I didnt get to appreciate Jordan's early days but ive seen plenty of Jordan to know the kind of player he is. Only player I never saw in his dominance was really Isiah that I listed. Reggie's best years were in the 90's, same goes Mitch Richmond, what you talking about? Stockton broke records in games I was steady watching. Him and Mailman coming up short year after year, and that was even after watching them in their prime for a handful of years. Outside of 80's ball I been steady watching from when I was a youth. Mother fuckers watching tapes of players isnt going to give them any idea of the kind of players they truly were.

its kool you saw them but the era you really talkin bout was from the second 3peat era to now which isnt really that long ago get off these guys backs man. any of us can say oh this hall of famer is this and this hall of famer is that.

But I want you to name some real ball players that flew under the radar like Detlef Shrempf, Dale Ellis, Dennis Scott, Mark Price, Brad Daughtery, Sean Elliott, your players show me that your a tape watcher. So dont bash these guys man, you gotta respect their lists like you would want an older person to respect yours.

One, I never even made a list.

Two, Detlef Schrempf is one of my all-time favourites. Asking me to name any of those 6 guys prove nothing. Those were all great talents, not Hall of Fame talents, but anyone watching bball in the 90's is aware of any of those guys, so it wouldnt give me any more or any less merit. I dont see how me listing some of the legends I saw play (noone you listed just now is a legend other than Detlef for being the greatest European player ever), makes me a tape watcher. Lol.. y'all are some real funny shit. Some of y'all are way too sensitive for one, and way too foolish aswell.

I completely agree with Bob. I don't see how you can call someone your favorite if you haven't even seen them live or at least on TV? You see a few tapes of Wilt who is much taller than his opponents dominating and he turns into your favorite player? It's pretty ridiculous actually. Now by me saying this, it does not mean in any way I don't respect them. Trust me, I respect what the old timers have done for this sport. I fully understand without them this sport wouldn't have blossomed into what it is today.



My top 5 (not in order, too tough to list them in order)


Charles Barkley - Absolute beast on the block. I also got to meet him in an elevator after a game.

Gary Payton - The glove was so fun to watch on defense and offense.

Latrell Sprewell - I remember coming home from school and watching the Heat vs Knicks. This guy was real exciting with Allan Houston playing on the wing with him

Dennis Rodman - The only bull on my list, played tough on the boards and did the dirty work for that dynasty.

Steve Nash - He is like a magician out there, some of the stuff he does is pure magic. Also pretty remarkable that soccer was his main sport but he gets it done on the basketball court with a lot less athleticism than his peers/opponents.

Anyways, I know he had a great career and he did some extraordinary things while he was on the court. This gains my respect but doesn't deserve to be on my favorite list. I guess you can base your favoritism on a few highlight reels and a bunch of stat lines but not me.

I base mine off of what I see with my own eyes in the heat of the moment. Their is nothing like seeing a player hit a game winning fade-away LIVE or seeing Dennis Rodman dive into the stands for a loose ball. This is the type of stuff takes makes me fall in love with a certain player.

I consider bandwagoning when you see or hear about a player or a team doing real well and them you just become a fan all the sudden. Then once they start losing or doing poorly, you find another team or player too like. And I have seen that happen before and that is not what I do.
