Not enough ammo, not enough first-aid, never enough Stasis...
Still fun to chop up the Space Undead with Twigg.Comment

So far the only thing that has pissed me off, besides that section where you're flying through the debris, was what Jay and I realized earlier. We went to do another one of the side missions in chapter 4, and after completing it we both had enough Tungsten to make several torque bars. So we wanted to go back to the first ship and open that door we couldn't open before. Nope. We fly over there, get to the door and it's sealed and can't be unlocked.
I guess when the game saved after we left that area it closed it off to any more exploration. Bullshit.Comment

EA says they're not going to patch the unlimited scrap room.
...
"The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch,” an EA spokesperson told me. “We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3)."
...
Also, the resource microtransactions were implemented similar to the equipment packs in Mass Effect 3's co-op. You collect Ration Seals from spare part boxes or your bot and turn those in for resource packs instead of forking over a few dollars.Comment

Good, because I paid the $60 w/tax and not a red cent more.
As for tonight's update on co-op'ing with VSN's nerdy local law enforcement, we're still in space and still looking for a way out.
We're almost at the end of Chapter 6 and the damn connection kept petering out right before we could move on.
It's a shame too because I was really getting into the swing of using my new Electric Shotgun/Fuck You Hammer combo.
Also, the Regenerators are back in and they aren't coming at you in a large open field this time around... MFers are like Mini-Tyrants and nobody's got a rocket launcher on hand.Comment

You could craft a rocket launcher...just sayin'.Comment

Not enough Tungsten/not that far into the story yet.
I'm currently under threat of spoiling the story for myself, bit-by-bit, on the pretense of the game's so great right now, I want to know everything about it at the moment.
The lore, all the characters, the settings (other than the space sequence and the snow planet), how it all ties into the other two games/comics series/books...
Unfortunately that ruins all sense of danger and suspense.
I kinda did that to Twigg last night when I mentioned the...
Conning Tower
...was one of the undesirable places to be in according to those who've played the game via the internet.
Turns out they were right.Comment

Get to the ice planet. I'm in chapter 11, and I'm rolling in the tungsten now.Comment

This game is soooooooo good. I'm really shocked by two things: 1) how well they implemented co-op, and 2) the length of the game.
I figured there was no way Visceral could add a second player to a Dead Space game and still somehow keep the core tenets of what makes the series great.I also can't believe that Dizzle and I are ten hours in and halfway through the game.Comment

I'm at chapter 15, and I'm not seeing how this game doesn't feel like a Dead Space game. If anything, this is more of the same.
I haven't really played around with the weapon crafting since it's more beneficial to use my resources to upgrade my RIG and stock up on ammo over creating weapon parts. I do love the stasis coating attachment though.
The story can be pretty cheesy at times too.Comment

Most of the reviews I've read/heard on podcasts say how the game as a single player game is more of the same, which should make Dead Space fans happy.Comment
-
I've read some that say the same thing. However, I've also read a few reviews talking about how then tension and atmosphere were lacking (specifically once you get to the ice planet) to accommodate a more action-y feel. I know I have a few chapters to go, but I haven't seen it. The only things that stick out are the Unitologist fights because the AI controlling them is pretty dull, but there have only been a handful of those so far.Comment

I also need to mention that the game looks stunning. I find myself just admiring the environment more often than I should considering that most times I get distracted like that a necromorph comes up behind me and tries to gnaw my face off.Comment

It's a good thing I built all those rad guns then.
Once I parts'd together the Ripper and my Bolo-Shotgun combo, it was on.
Upgrading the flamethrower into a frost gun was a terrible mistake though ... Didn't do shit and I REALLY wanted to freeze a Necromorph and then smash it to pieces.
Best investment I made was getting the Elite Frames done early so I could put more modules on my guns.
That and the Air/Armor/Health although they ate my Tungsten up like a son of a bitch.Comment
