i'll get in the game update + recruiting update hopefully tonight, but im stuck at the airport til like 8 o clock cuz my family's waiting for a german exchange student. she's living us for 6 months, which kicks ass, but it also means i have to wait all day in the MFin airport until she get's here.

can't tell u til tomorrow at about 11 o clock. her flight got delayed, so she is stuck in chicago overnight. she'll be flying in to the indy airport at 9:45, and i sure as hell aint gettin up that early. i'll post first thing tomorrow if she's hot or not

Indiana Rebound from Loss to OSU, Upsets #24 Virginia

Charlottesville, VA - After getting blown out by #12 Ohio State at home, the Hoosiers rebound with a huge upset of #24 Virginia on the road.

The first quarter was awful. Indiana couldn't do anything on offense OR defense. IU opened the game by putting up 3 points. Next drive, they forced a punt. The Hoosiers were on a roll. But then things got ugly. IU punted, Virginia kicked a field goal. IU threw an interception, Virginia scored a touchdown. IU fumbled the kickoff, Virginia scored a touchdown. Now down 17-3, Indiana had no hope.

Then, Ray Fisher went down. He hurt his back and would be out the rest of the game. Ugly just got uglier. But then, a savior came in the form of Damario Belcher. He started beasting it up, catching every thing in site. First a 10 yarder, then a 6 yarder, then a 15 yarder. Each play, IU was getting closer to the end zone. Then, Brad Martin (who?) ran a perfect out route, getting so open you could have underhanded him the ball from 20 yards out. He caught the pass in the end zone to make the score 17-10. And from there, Indiana took off. A field goal the next drive, then a sack/fumble for touchdown by Jammie Kirlew and Greg Middleton made the score 20-17 at the half.

The 2nd half was pretty even. Neither team had the upper hand, and the teams played almost the same. But the biggest play in the 2nd half was IU recovering the onside kick by Virginia with 42 seconds to play. With so little time left, all they did was kneel the ball a couple times and the game was over. "The thrill of that victory was unbelievable," said Mitchell Evans after the game. "None of [the Indiana Hoosier players] could believe what just happened. We had actually beaten a good team."

But the hero today was not Damario Belcher, not Ben Chappell, but Mitch Ewald. "My Man Mitch" kicked 2 key field goals in the first half. Without the 6 points that he scored, Indiana would have lost. "My job is to kick field goals, and that's what I did," he said after the game.

Next week, the Hoosiers host another top 25 team in (Illinois). Let's hope Indiana can keep up its winning streak.
