Enough is enough. Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time.

Define "big game".
400 yards, 80% completions, 2 TD's, no picks two weeks ago in the AFC Championship. Is that a "big game"?
Seems like you're the one ignoring "big games" if you say he always chokes. He's played well in many big games. You don't play in 23 postseason games by playing badly in "big games".
Of course, what you mean to say, is Super Bowls. Your entire stance is based on Super Bowls. If that's the kind of analysis you like to do, ok. To me that's being lazy and surface level.
Nothing he did tonight was going to change my mind on Manning. He's 37 and is what he is. Bad game, good game, great game. He's the best regular season QB ever. He's won a SB and played in two others. Not the best postseason QB, not even close really, but he's been good enough that combined with his overall play, to me that makes him the best ever.
I'd rather take my chances overrating 240 games than 23, or 3, or 2. The 240 games tell me all I need to know, the three Super Bowls simply close the case for me.Last edited by Warner2BruceTD; 02-02-2014, 11:07 PM.Comment

Peyton Manning didn't have a great game, to be sure, but his status as a top-3 NFL QB of all time cannot be questioned. Hell, the man threw 55 TD passes at age 37 after four bloody neck surgeries! And he's not the first QB to have a bad game against the Seattle Seahawks. Do I consider him the closer Joe Montana was? No. Did he ever have the O-Lines Joe had? No. Both his INTs tonight were not entirely his fault. I don't think Manning is the greatest of all time because he plays in a relaxed era for QBs and just doesn't have Montana's unparalleled playoff success. But he has nothing to apologize for either. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

And if you think I place no value on the Super Bowl, you are wrong.
This thread would not exist had he not won a SB. He's been to two more since I made it, won two more MVP's, and had the greatest single season for a QB in NFL history. He's done nothing but add to the resume.
I value the Super Bowl, I just don't let it overpower everything else like a tidal wave. That's silly, and honestly it's the kind of analysis that needs to go away is sports debate.Comment

nice try. i guess if Maynard made me change my opinion, i would feel small too.
im not the idiot since 2009 claiming Manning is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. but its nice to know that ii made you look like a big enough idiot for you to finally bow down and admit he isnt the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.Comment

Manning flops in the playoffs a lot, he just does, you can throw all the stats you want at me, I am a fan and have routed for him every time he has been in the super bowl and big games against the Pats, Steelers, etc...
My eyes don't lie, its always Manning throwing a pick, getting flustered and having that defeated look on his face
That 3rd and 10 draw play down 29 past the fifty was his "big game" legacy in one play, good job Peyton, way to mail inLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings
