Hester was fucked as a position player before he stepped foot in Chicago. It really isn't his fault per se, but he was so far behind the curve in terms of technique and instincts at a position before he went pro, it shocks me none that he is real slow to warm up at a position.
Larry Coker and the staff moved the kid everywhere and never let him settle in. Hhe should have been a wide receiver from Day 1, but they fucked around with him at DB for too long and never fully got him situated at wide receiver, often using him in the backfield and never actually giving him plays to run outside of direct snaps of that jazz.
To be fair, the Bears coaching on O isn't exactly stellar either. If DH went elsewhere he might have been coached up better.
