Dude, this seems like a ludicrous idea, that From Software got IGN to make a guide because people are giving up on the game? Seems far-fetched as hell.

why would it seem far fetched? its already well known that gaming sites are paid for their reviews. So why not take it 1 step further.

i wasnt really saying they were asked to make the guide. I was just pointing out how after the initail buzz for the game, all discussion came to a halt...on every site. The devs know who plays and who stops (Ala DA2 stats). So in a round about way i was hinting that IGN is trying to help the devs by promoting a dummy guide. Like they did with that idiotic skyrim vs dark souls preview

not totally far fetched imo...but the point was how the game completely died. VSN is a bad example, but even here nobody is talking about this game.

what really pisses me off about this game is how amazing it could have been. But its just over the top hard to the point of stupidity
 
Compared to Demons Souls I'm surprised how little chatter there is here about this...

I am done with it for now. I only have Seath and the final boss left, but I can't beat Seath. He does this attack that puts crystal spikes across the entire room and they curse you, same curse as the frogs from the Depths, instant kill and halved health bar. Only at this point it's a lot fucking harder to kill stuff to get souls for the decurse with a halved health bar.

I'm playing Batman and BF3 now and with Uncharted 3, MW3, and Skyrim upcoming among others, I don't know when I'll get around to finishing this. I'd like to at some point just to say I did, but I have no motivation to right now. Think I played it TOO much in the first couple weeks and burnt myself out.
 
Anyone beat this fucking game yet? I rented and while intriguing I knew it wasnt the game for me. With Batman, UC3, Gears, and Skyrim.....I feel my time is best spent elsewhere.
 
So is there anyone alive still playing this? Killgod? BazookaJoe? I am giving it a serious go now that I'm letting a friend borrow Demon's, and not for nothing, this one seems so much fucking harder. I just literally have no fucking idea where to go or what to do next. How would this game be possible without a fucking guide? Also, the limited number of times that you can cast spells makes the beginning part MUCH harder than Demon's.

i have it an i play daily on 360. i started over cause i killed andre by mistake. imSL 55 and rang both bells. I have to go to Sens fortress now but i want fight sif first.

If you need help with any bosses til then let me know and Ill help you out if u have it for xbox.

this game is going to die once skyrim comes out.
 
yo fuck the capra demon. stupid ass dogs make the fight a million times harder.

amazing game btw. couldnt of asked for a better sequel to demons souls.
 
i wish there was a mode or still a glitch to get souls. i would like to mess around with magic but dont want to grind again or start a new character after putting so many hours with this one.
 
I just started another guy and didnt patch so i could mess around with a Dex/Int build. Used the glitch to get like a billion souls (literally) in an hour or so. I just wish i could use it on my HDD (im on xbox360) rather than the memory unit so I could use the bottomless box glitch to give stuff to this guy from my other.

'Dark Souls' series will continue, says From Software

The 2011 game and its predecessor Demon's Souls have both sold more than a million copies worldwide, and the developer stated that it is looking to build on the success of the series so far.

"It's not over yet," teased From Software's R&D head Masanori Takeuchi.

Executive producer Eliichi Nakajima explained to GameTrailers: "You have to go back to our roots, which is King's Field. We've made many games in that series."
