That's all the NCAA I really play. (I also play Madden 07 and occasionally NCAA 06 - which is really fun - both on PS2) I have NCAA 09 on 360... but since I can only get $5 for it at GameStop, my hands are sort of tied. I'm thinking of getting Madden 06 on PS2.

Yep. This was on NCAA 09. I'm fed up with NCAA 10 mainly because of the flawed sim engine. Way too many upsets which takes away from the importance of the game of the weeks. All the QBs have around 15 carries per game even if they're pocket QBs. I believe that issue is a major reason for a lot of the strange scores you'll see on NCAA 10. I think the gameplay on 10 isn't bad but the atmosphere is dull. Really, the only negative about 09 were way too accurate passers and too many interceptions from what I can remember.

Corvallis, OR - Oregon State's playmaking tailback, Tim Taylor (81 ovr) will be out of action for up to nine weeks according to doctors. Taylor will miss the rest of the regular season and will hope to be back for the bowl game. But that does not seem like a realistic possibility. So it is possible that Beaver fans have seen Taylor for the last time on the football field as he is a 5th year senior. The speedy tailback injured himself early in the 4th quarter just before the Beavers pulled away from Arizona State this past weekend at Reser Stadium. Taylor had accumulated 991 rushing yards, just nine yards short of 1,000 yards, and scored 14 touchdowns. Now OSU will turn to red shirt freshman HB Derrick Andrews (74 ovr) who has been a capable backup, but has never shown the ability to make plays like Taylor. The loss of Taylor might expose a weakness of depth at the tailback position. But Oregon State can not hang their heads as they travel to Pasadena to take on the #9 UCLA Bruins for a huge game that may decide the conference championship, and possibly have national title implications.

Chris: Welcome to beautiful Pasadena. Man, it feels like it has been forever since last week. Hmmm...well we have a huge Pac-10 game today between Oregon State and UCLA. (crowd cheers) Remember it was UCLA that handed Oregon State its only loss of the season last year. Unfortunately for the Bruins, they were unable to stay unbeaten as they fell to Cal just last weekend. But a win today for UCLA would put them in the driver's seat to win the conference. Of course they still have to get by USC. For the Beavers a win and national championship talk will become a real possibility and at the very least the Beavs would head to another Rose Bowl. Of course they will still have the Civil War against the Ducks. Oh and let us not forget there is the big rivalry known as the Iron Bowl. A win today for Auburn clinches the SEC West but if Alabama wins then the Tide will be tied with the surprising Arkansas Razorbacks. And Arkansas won the head-to-head game so the Tide would have to hope for an Arkansas loss to LSU in the final week. So let's get right to it...

Chris: The Tide are riding high after their big victory over LSU. Alright, so we turn to the huge game we have here today. Unfortunately, the Beavs were struck with an injury to one of their impact players. Erin, you have more on that topic?

Erin: That's right. I do indeed Chris. The news is not good for the Beavers. HB Tim Taylor (81 ovr) has a broken ankle. Guys, he's likely to miss up to nine weeks so his season and his career are likely over. So Oregon State will rely on a red shirt freshman HB Derrick Andrews. He's really excited to start his first game. Also, a reminder, OSU FS Scott Vinson (90 ovr) is also still out of action with a hip pointer. The Beavers hope to have him back next week.

Chris: Thanks Erin. Well, that is a tough break for the Beavs but the game must go on. The headgear is here so it is time for the picks.

Kirk: With or without Taylor, it is hard to pick against Oregon State. They have taken their game to a whole other level this season. They are just destroying teams. They did have some close calls against Cal and Washington. But I look for their defense to lead them to victory today. QB Justin Rust (88 ovr) should also play well. With Taylor out, Rust will need to step up for the Beavs but he has shown that he is somebody they can count on. Beavers win convincingly today. (crowd boos)

Lee: Not so fast sweetheart! UCLA was taken off guard last week against Cal. The Bruins will be ready today and that OSU secondary is without their starting FS Scott Vinson going up against one of the best QBs in the conference if not the nation in UCLA QB Bryan Quinn (93 ovr). Uh oh! The Bruins knock off the Beavers again. (Lee puts on the Bruin headgear as the crowd cheers) GO BRUINS!

Pasadena, CA - The Bruins came out and put an offensive clinic with an impressive opening drive that was finished off when QB Bryan Quinn was able to find HB Clint Donaldson open in the flat and the speedster walked in untouched for an 18-yard TD. However, the extra point attempt missed wide right and the Bruins were only on top 6-0.

But Oregon State was not phased in the least by the quick score on the noise of the Rose Bowl crowd that was sold out for the huge Pac-10 matchup. The Beavers would also put together a good looking drive of their own as HB Derrick Anderews scored on a 1-yard TD scamper. And OSU was able to put the ball through the uprights on the XP attempt to take the 7-6 lead.

Though UCLA continued to find holes in the Oregon State defense as Quinn found Donaldson again wide open in the flat for a huge 49-yard gain. Donaldson was off to the races. If it had not been for OSU CB John Biggers running him down to save the touchdown. Fortunately, OSU was able to hold the Bruins to a 36-yard FG and UCLA regained the lead, 9-7.

On the ensuing possession, OSU QB Jutin Rust threw to an open TE Adam Banks over the middle on a crossing pattern. The big, athletic tight end was able shrug off a tackle and it became a foot race to the end zone which the big guy was able to house it for a 65-yard TD as OSU regained the lead 14-9.

However UCLA QB Bryan Quinn continued to pick apart the supposedly great OSU secondary as he was already a perfect 7-for-7, but after another 1st down pass to WR Charles Vincent, Quinn had been knocked down in the pocket. The Bruin QB did not get back up and the training staff had to help him off the field. It was later reported that Quinn was suffering from back spasms and would be out the remainder of the game. Quinn, with 19 touchdowns and only six intercptions on the season is one of the top QBs in the conference if not the nation so this was a significant blow for UCLA. So in came 5th year senior QB Greg Suggs who continued to march the Bruins into OSU territor. Where on 4th-and-1, Suggs was nearly picked off by OSU CB Deon Weatherford as the Beavers got the ball back on downs to send the game to the 2nd quarter.

Oregon State's drive would be brought to an abrupt end when UCLA DT Matt Barber (91 ovr) busted through to sack QB Justin Rust who also fumbled the ball. The Beavers were fortunate enough to recover but it set up a 55-yard FG attempt. OSU kicker Reggie Smith had the leg but it sailed wide right as the Bruins took over with good field position.

UCLA QB Greg Suggs continued to pick apart the OSU secondary and HB Clint Donaldson was getting just enough yards on the ground to move the chains. It was apparent as the Bruins continued their methodical drive that the Beavers had no answer to make a stop. As a result, the Bruins found themselves in the red zone where Suggs hit WR Eric Pleasant for a 9-yard TD to regain the lead for the Bruins, 16-14.

With momentum on their side, the crowd noise started to pick up and started to become a factor. However, Rust was able to hit TE Adam Banks for a 1st down on 3rd-and-long but a holding penalty brought the ball back. As a result, the Beavers had to punt after a three-and-out. And the Bruins went right back to their conservative, west coast offense, marching the length of the field. The OSU defense continued to look befuddled as to how to slow down the Bruins. When the Bruins made there away inside the 5-yard line, Suggs tossed the ball to HB Clint Donaldson. The quick tailback got outside containment and easily scored on the 1-yard TD run to put UCLA up 23-14.

Oregon State had the ball with one more possession left with under a minute left. That is when disaster struck as Rust tried to connect with WR David Baker on a deep post. Rust tried to thread the needle but UCLA FS Ricky Garrett was able to jump up and just get a hand on the ball. Then the ball fortuitously landed right back in his hands for an interception. The Rose Bowl roared to life as the Bruins had a chance to put this one away before halftime.

But on the very next play, Suggs threw an ill-advised pass over the middle which OSU MLB Casey Wright picked off as the Beavers dodged a huge bullet before the end of the half. Rust would be sacked by UCLA DT Matt Barber for his 2nd sack of the game and the Beavers were content to head to the locker rooms for halftime down 23-14.

To start the 3rd quarter, OSU QB Justin Rust could not avoid a CB blitz on 3rd down and was sacked. The Beavers were forced to punt but Carpenter was able to pin UCLA at their own 2-yard line. The OSU defense was finally able to make a stop to force a punt. On the ensuing possession for OSU, the Beavers were able to finally make some headway, getting into UCLA territory. But then Rust was sacked again and he also fumbled the ball. The Beavers recovered but not before a huge loss. Oregon State was probably just barely inside Reggie Smith's range for a field goal but on 3rd-and-18, Rust again found himself under pressure. The 5th year senior just got rid of it over the middle but did not see UCLA OLB Jamar Taylor who made an easy interception.

The Beavers found temselves down by two scores heading into the 4th quarter and the Bruins had the ball. Fortunately, UCLA was stopped near midfield and the Bruins were forced to punt. On the ensuing possession for Oregon State, Rust had apparently taken one too many hits as he left the game with a bruised sternum. So in came red shirt freshman QB Ty Moore who connected with WR Brian Horn on a short out pattern. Rust trotted back onto the field where he faced a 4th-and-4 near midfield with only 4:42 left to go in the game. On the play, Rust dropped back and found an open WR Bill Faaeteete for the 1st down. The Beavers continued down the field where insided red zone, Rust playfaked to HB Derrick Anderews and threw a strike to TE Adam Banks who dove down to make the catch in the end zone for a 11-yard TD reception to make it 23-21 with only 2:41 remaining in the game.

Now Oregon State needed their defense to get them the ball back. It came down to a 3rd-and-inches with 2:03 remaining. But UCLA QB Greg Suggs was able to hit sophomore WR Eric Pleasant on a slant for the 1st down. It was not looking good for the Beavers. But OSU DE Brandon Webb was able to come up with a sack on the next play. The Beavers took their first timeout and the Bruins now faced a 2nd-and-15 with 1:11 left to go. Then HB Clint Donaldson found an opening to gain 10 yards to set up a huge 3rd-and-five. With only 1:04 left to go, the Bruins were at their own 45-yard line and had to get to the 50-yard line to get the first down and put an end to the game. Suggs dropped back to pass and faced a huge pass rush from the Beavers, but dumped it off to WR Charles Vincent on a screen. Vincent scurried forward where OSU CB John Biggers tried to take him down. Vincent's momentum carried him forward where he came down right near the 50-yard line.

It would all come down to the spot. The ball was placed right at the 50-yard line. Out came the chain gang. The chains were outstretched. The referee pointed his arm forwad. First down UCLA. The stadium went wild with excitement and the Beavers could do nothing but watch the Bruins kneel in the victory formation. There is now a three-way tie in the Pac-10 and the dream of an undefeated season for the Beavers comes to an end.
