#9 Oregon State (9-1) @ Stanford (3-7)
Palo Alto, CA - After a tough loss to UCLA, Oregon State was looking to get back on track. Fortunately, next up was 3-7 Stanford whose only wins have come against Washington State, Washington, and an FCS team.
Stanford may have hoped for an OSU hangover but after the Cardinal were forced to punt, head coach Jim Harbaugh knew that the Beavers were ready. OSU then responded by putting together a perfect drive that was finished with HB Derrick Andrews crossing the goal line on a 1-yard TD rush to put the Beavers quickly on top
7-0.

Stanford would go a quick three-and-out on the ensuing possession. Then OSU QB Justin Rust would connect over the middle to WR Bill Faaeteete who was drilled, leaving the game with a dislocated shouler. However the injury would not slow down the Beavers' offense as Rust would hit WR David Baker on a slant right at the goal line for a 12-yard TD to put Oregon State in front
14-0.

To open the 2nd quarter, Stanford finally put a drive together but it would stall in OSU territory to set up a 38-yard field goal that was good to make it
14-3 OSU. But Stanford had no answer to stop Oregon State's offense. Rust would dump it off to HB Derrick Andrews who made his way toward the sideline with only one defender in front of him. At the sideline, he made a move that left the defender grabbing air, but the whistle blew. Andrews had stepped out of bounds but it was still a 33-yard gain. Not long after in the red zone, Rust threw to Baker over the middlewho spun by a defender and accelerated into the end zone for a 13-yard reception to put OSU up
21-3.

Stanford would be able to get out to midfield on the ensuing possession but would be forced to punt. However, Jim Harbaugh, knowing that the game was starting to get out of hand decided to gamble with a fake punt. The punter connected with the receiver over the middle for a 1st down. Unfortunately for the Cardinal, QB Jason Rodgers was sacked by OSU DE Brandon Webb on 3rd down. Thus setting up a long 52-yard field goal attempt that was apparently just out of range as the ball fell short of the cross bar.
The Beavers went right back to work as Andrews found a big opening up the middle for a gain of 29 yards. Oregon State would finish off another impressive possession with Rust finding Andrews open for a 13-yard TD connection to make it
28-3.

Stanford QB Jason Rodgers would respond by putting a last minute drive together that resulted in a 35-yard field goal to make it
28-6 at halftime.
The Cardinal would actually hold the Beavers to a three-and-out to start the 3rd quarter so maybe Stanford could make a comeback. Unfortunately for Stanford, the punt pinned the Cardinal at their own 3-yard line. Where Stanford QB Jason Rodgers under pressure dumped the ball into the flat where OSU FS Scott Vinson , just back from his injury, immediately impacted the game as he was able to steal the ball from the TE, and then take in for a pick-six to make it
35-6 OSU.

Another sack by OSU DE Brandon Webb would force another Stanford three-and-out. Before long, the Beavers would find themselves back in the red zone where on a 4th-and-goal at the 1-yard line, Rust ran it in himself on a sneak to put the Beavers in front
42-6.
In the 4th quarter, Stanford QB Jason Rodgers threw a deep pass over the middle which was picked off by OSU FS Scott Vinson for his 2nd interception of the game. The return took it all the way into Stanford territory. Where QB Justin Rust hooked up with a wide open TE Adam Banks for a 7-yard touchdown to put Oregon State way ahead
49-6. It was Justin Rust's 30th touchdown pass of the season which was a new school record.

With the game well in hand, Mike Riley pulled all of the starters as the Beavers clobbered the Cardinal
49-6. Up next is the final game of the season against the rival Oregon Ducks at Reser Stadium. Depending on the outcome of the Battle for the Victory Bell between UCLA and USC, the Civil War could have Rose Bowl implications for Oregon State.
