side quest seem to be never ending...lol. some are quick and some or tedious, while others are good. I always seem to focus on the side quests first then the main story.

i am thinking of starting over which is why i asked. I have about 25 hrs played at level 27 and i do tend to take my time and explore everything the game offers.

i really wanted to be an adept or vangaurd, but it just felt like those classes were not going to be fun. Seemed like the biotic powers were 'meh' and didnt offer anything really cool. Like it would be sweet to fire energy blasts at bad guys....kind of like an rpg that offers magic powers where u can shoot all kinds of weird shit.

being a soldier is cool and i like it, but i always like being a magic or wizard type guy

you can equip your power to work by tapping RB. Only one though. It's probably best to choose a power that doesn't affect the enemies because you'll more then likely miss as you randomly fire your blast at someone. I prefer to choose my powers through the wheel since it lets me actually target people easier.

Damn now I'm not sure what I want to play on my first playthrough.

Gonna be a tough choice between Adept, Vanguard and Sentinel.

I agree Maynard, the biotics are kind of "meh". The game seems to be mired in its attempt to be as realistic as possible, so all the "powers" are involving manipulation of energy and force (or, in the words of the game, Mass Effect fields). So like, Warp has great affects but looks no different than Throw or Lift.

Really the only ones I enjoyed were Throw and Lift, personally. My Vanguard is my favorite character because at Level 60 I maxed out Throw and Lift AND shotguns, because pistols kind of suck.

Because it's an attack that only affects a small area, in which your enemies have to be in to be affected. Too many times have I targeted someone with it, only to watch them move 3 inches, and have the thing do absolutely nothing.

It certainly requires tremendous accuracy, but I found it to be HIGHLY useful in all of my playthroughs.

so if i was a soldier in ME1, can i switch my same character to an adept in ME2?

yes

I think what im gonna do is play my guy as he was in ME1 and then when im done with the story, go back and start from scratch in ME2

I didnt even know if they confirmed all kills

But they said everyone can die, its a suicide mission everyone can die at the end, it all depends how well you equip them.

Im about 10 hours in, and I just got Thane. You get Garrus really early. you can get Thane earlier, but I did some other sidemissions before I went to get him. No confirmed deaths yet.

Aiming as a whole is MUCH better. I cant even stress how much better then gunplay is this time around.
