did ME1 ever recieve a patch for any of its technical issues?

i swear to god, i have never seen people give such contrasting reviews on a game. its like they either love or hate certain thing about the game. like one review loved the cover system, the other said the cover system is worthless.

IDK I loved the 1st one. Only problem I had with it was not enough good side quests, the occasional hiccup in the graphics department and the elevators.

You haven't played the first? It was the first RPG I had ever played. And I loved it. I couldn't stop playing it. Its very unique. It mixes excellent combat with RPG elements and a solid story. The dialogue wheel/circle is awesome and fun to be a complete asshole to people.

I'd be shocked if you didn't enjoy it at a high level.

nope, never played it

picked it up used from gamestop for $20. The fag at store by my house said they wanted $25, so i had to drive back by my work and pick it up from another gamestop. i almost didnt get it cause he also said $25 until i told him he said 20 on the phone earlier

but i am glad i did get it. None of the negatives i have read are an issue for me so far. I am really into the story and even though at of info is being thrown at me right away, i am able to absorb all that shit because the game is so enjoyable....normally all this dialog turns me off, but this story is quite good

i am not to far yet, just got blown up by the beacon and i just woke up from recovering.....

man, for a 2 year old game is still looks excellent. I like the controls and menus too



question, do you guys recommend just letting the squad do there own thing rather then trying to control them. i seem to be doing better when i let them be controlled by the cpu

also...the paragon and renegade meters. I see blue filling up on the paragon....but i wonder if renegade will only fill up as my choices cause the paragon to decrease....or can both sides fill up during your game? i am trying to play as a good guy

I let the comp do their own shit.

You can fill up your Paragon/Renegade meters up together. I remember through one run, on Noveria, I filled both up by going to the same person and having the same conversation over and over. i was trying to get the achievements for each. The more each raises, the more experience points you can put into the intimidate/charm categories.

@ Maynard: You can play both roles to get them up, but at the end of the day your either going to be the bag guy or good guy. You wont be both.

The new launch trailer is fucking epic. I swear it might be my favotire trailer ive seen. Michael Sheen's voice just fits.

i just heard so many bad things about this game when it came out that i didnt have interest. Plus bioshock came out at the same time and cod4 so i totally overlooked this game.

thing is, the bad stufff i heard about it back then is totally incorrect. It was all about the poor combat system and the on the fly commands with that wheel and that it paused the game. The way people talked about it made me have zero interest.

But i play it now and i am thinking these people are fools. I am totally enjoying the game. I am in the citedel exploring everything right now. Just got a assignment from some alien chick who seems to want to lick my balls from across the room

Glad you're enjoying it Maynard. It's still my favorite game on the 360.

As far as the negatives, be prepared to not be in love with the Mako. It pretty much blows. Not a game breaker for me, but for some people it is. Also, the only other negative I found in the game is that outside of the Citadel and the four or five main missions you go on, everything is the same. Every sidequest taking place on random planets consists of the same 2 or 3 interior level designs.

The positives so incredibly outweigh those two small negatives though, that it didn't spoil any of it for me.
