Maynard, you need to update what's going on with the choices you made, because it seems we made completely different decisions for the whole game.

And the temptation to click spoiler tags is overwhelming, but I won't do it.

To whoever asked about dossier info:

 

there's a point in the game where you do an important mission on Horizon. After that mission, most of the character side quests and 2 more dossiers open up.

I don't know if you guys are rushing through, but I'm at about 12-15 hours right now and I'm about to collect the justicar and assassin. I'm not even halfway...but I also spend a shit ton of time raping planets.

I still can't find any Element Zero on planets...the random container here or there, but I need a lot to do upgrades.

From what I've read on teh interwebs, Element Zero is borderline impossible to find. Thankfully, you get a wicked bonus of it on your second playthrough (50,000 of all elements).

We arent rushing through, you are closer to the end than you realize.

There's no way you could have done all the sidemissions, unless you've gone back to every planet with every combination of ppl, some sidemission with random dudes walking around don't even trigger unless you have a certain member in your group. I"m kinda ready to finish the game and do another playthrough tho just to see how things can go differently, im not even gunna open grunt on the next playthrough

you can start another playthrough with your current character and create a new save. i played through the game twice with the same character (paragon then renegade). both saves showed up when i imported to ME2, just make sure you don't overwrite your current save file.

yes each playthrough the game saves the ultimate results

for example you finish the game the first time and you want to have a different ending for that game with the same choices you made in that game. What you do is just go back to the last save and start from there and finish b/c like stated earlier the game saves all FINISHES so if you play the same save 4 times and each time you choose a different ending those 4 playthroughs will be saved

dont worry about saves its the end result that you worry about and that can only be erased if you do that on the dashboard

thanks guys.....i started a new game last night but dumped out to the dashboard before it could do an auto save or something. I was worried it would overwrite my current ultimate save. Very helpful info going forward

i am thinking about restarting from the choice u make on vermilia. That is a critical choice and i would like to see how the entire game plays out and moves into ME2 with both choices....if it even plays out different

I'm gunna have to play this at least 2 or 3 more times, i gotta go back to ME1 and playthrough again and kill wrex and save the council to see how these major decisions affect 2

Starting my 2nd playthru as an infiltrator. Cloak + Fortification = awesome.

Also love how they keep the saves separate per character, so there is no chance of me overwriting my previous playthru at all. Awesome!

Very close, wouldn't suggest doing that mission unless you've done the side quests you want to.

That saddens me a little. I dont want this game to end.

I cleared the dossier for the most part, made several trips to planets with several combinations of team members, serched various planets for anomalies and done basicly everything that was offered to me. Like I said, there wasnt much that I didnt do and what I did miss wasnt very consequential. Im running through it again after Bioshock 2, hopefully some mission DLC is out then. I know it isnt 100% because there were a couple of missions i just didnt feel like finishing (like turning in the locket to that chick, even though I knew exactly who to turn it in to) but there isnt much left, although im sure i missed a couple of anomalies (which usually take about 10-15 mins to complete). I love the game, but its short.

I'm easily breaking 40 hours with this first playthrough. I don't understand all this "short" talk.

I got 30 out of my first playthru, but skipped a lot of side missions/exploring cause I wanted to see the end.

I think I could easily get 40-45 by doing everything. Already have 7 hours logged on my 2nd playthru and I've found like 4-5 missions already that I missed the first time just by taking my time.

I guess. I'm not leaving a single stone unturned. I'm depleting every planet, pursing every chat/story dialogue with every character, you name it...I'm gonna try and do it.

I'm in no rush to finish the game, I just don't get how some guys claim to "doing everything" in 25 hours.

Like fuck I just found 4 star maps on Ilium opening up so much more to me.

I've died maybe 5 times total? I'm not finding battle too difficult on Normal, so I know that's not slowing me down.

You can run through the main quests and beat it in 20 hours or less. I did as much as I possibly could before attacking the final mission, ended up with a little over 40 hours.

Feels like a majority of the game is getting help/recruiting. Now that I'm done, it felt too short. I felt like there could be more...I guess that's the point with a trilogy.

I'm trying Insanity with my first playthrough character. It's retarded, Heavy Incinerate and the Ulti-Overload do like 1/7 damage to armor and synthetics.

I admittedly didnt deplete every planet, as I saw no point in it. I had all of the resources I needed for upgrades, and ended the game with my resource tanks over half full (except of course element zero). I did at least visit all the planets looking for anomalies.

80+ % of the game is gathering your crew and doing the loyalty missions. That is why I say the game is short. Im hearing there may be some things on the 2nd playthrough that you dont see the first time and im hoping thats the case. I most certainly didnt rush through the game, and I said several times that I didnt ever want it to end because its quite possibly my favorite game ever. There are only four achievements that I didnt get. Hitting level 30, No One Left Behind, Long service medal and finishing on Insanity. No way I could get everything else if I was rushing through. :shifty:

In the first game pretty near the beginning you went to a huge place where the council was I think. I don't remember what it was called and you could explore that place for hours. Is there a place like that in this game?
