In the first game pretty near the beginning you went to a huge place where the council was I think. I don't remember what it was called and you could explore that place for hours. Is there a place like that in this game?

The Council is much smaller, if what I read from the bioware forums is right.

Most of them are, but there are some that you wont get rushing through the game... like 100% visiting of an unexplored cluster and the one you get for doing anomalies.

Beat the game last night.

 

I felt like the main plot in this one wasn't even close to being as original or captivating as original as the first one. That being said all of the characters in this one were all extremely interesting and were easily the highlight of the game. The suicide mission itself was somewhat anticlimactic. After spending 20+ hours getting everyone and their loyalty I was hoping the suicide mission would last more than an hour or two.

Has anyone got the No One Left Behind Achievement?

 

It seemed out of my control who died. I was so pissed when Thane died when he was just a part of my squad.

one of my favorite minor parts of this game is how after every mission, if you go to talk to joker, he bitches about the people you just got or he's having a fight with EDI. i find it hilarious

Yeah I make sure to do that after every mission, one of my favorite parts of the game period.

Thane didnt die in mine, Tali and Jack did. Really pissed me off as they were both loyal and I have no idea what I did to make that happen.

How long is ME2? I'm about 7 hrs into it and hoping that I'm not nearing the end already. The first ME was way too short, so hopefully they expanded the game the 2nd time around...

I lost Jack and Legion. Luckily, I have a save that I did RIGHT before the suicide mission. So I can keep trying over and over.

i'm close to the end, explored most of the systems, done all the side missions that have popped up...44 hrs, so far and loving every minute lol.

And I'll say I disagree with you ATB: I think this game's story was much better than the first. Fleshed out better, better told, and better side quests/loyalty missions. Just fucking great.

so i started anew ME1 game just to see how the point distribution worked. Did i misunderstand what i read? it looks like i can not re distribute Shepards points.....only the points of my squad can be redistributed

is there any point coming up where i get to redistribute my guys points?

The loyalty and side quests were both great gameplay-wise and regarding story. The main plot itself seemed rather short and felt like it served as a placeholder for the final game.
