Yeah, what these guys don't seem to understand, is that if some of these high minors guys are rated above guys like Paul Maholm, then they would be on rosters instead of the Paul Maholm's of the world, because Paul Maholm's services are exponentially more expensive. It's common sense.

The only players in a roster set like this that should outrate a decent chunk of MLB players, should be guys who are clearly getting called up this year, and are only down at the moment for arbi clock purposes. Even then, they should only be rated higher than lower level starters at their positions or maybe some average guys. Otherwise, you really need to examine how you rated them. an 82 OVR AAA guy would not only be in the majors already, but also probably starting on a lot of teams. I mean, c'mon.

I guess we are just hard liners -- the CRADS editor's defense for Taveras being so much higher than Profar is that Sony underrated Profar and he should be higher too. This is the same guy who gave Michael Wacha, he of the 21 professional innings and 8 above A ball, the same K/9 as Felix Hernandez.

but even this isn't perfect....at least in RTTS. People want it to be realistic all the way to the color of bats/gloves but once that player is traded or signs elsewhere (in RTTS @ least), that realism is thrown out the window. I had a pitcher throw for the Blue Jays and was originally on the A's, still have a green glove....so there is a point that you just have to remember it's just a game.

Possible Franchise Issue W/ OSFM

First off I want to say this is just something that I noticed and I am not saying that it is due to OSFM rosters but I'm seeing some strange off season transactions. I did not notice this using other rosters but for some reason computer controlled teams no longer offer most of their minor league players contracts. I noticed this after simming an off season with both the Braves and the Marlins where some teams would have around 60 players on their roster after the deadline to sign all their potential free agents. After the deadline passes go into manage roster and scroll through and you'll see this happening. Also go through available free agents and notice how many young players are there.

My first guess would be that a lot of ratings were increased and doing that it increases the amount they are asking to sign. With the new budget system a lot of teams have to let the majority of their minor leaguers go due to this.

Everyone just sim through a franchise and then after the December 2nd deadline look how flooded free agency is with young prospects. Argh!
