Edmonds should serve me well down the stretch this year, I actually signed him to a two year deal because he wouldnt accept a one year deal but it has a club option so I just won't bring him back.

Janssen sent down, Clement called up

LOS ANGELES, CA -- After being shelacked for five runs in only three short innings, Tuesday versus Cleveland, Blue Jays pitcher Casey Janssen is out.

Late Tuesday night, Cito Gaston fulfilled on his promise to send Janssen down if he had another erratic start by designating him for assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas, also where Travis Snider was sent after Jim Edmonds' arrival in Toronto.

"Casey has been a dissapointment so far this season and hopefully he can improve his play in Triple-A and he may get another look before the season is over." Gaston said of the move.

Janssen was 1-2 with a 7.66 ERA in 6 starts, never lasting more then 6 innings and pitching only one "quality start."

Janssen's replacement?

Another comeback kid.

Former Red Sox pitcher Matt Clement has steadily worked his way through the Jays organization for two years and narrowly missed out on earning a rotation spot in Spring Training. He was 2-2 with a 3.30 ERA in 5 starts with Triple-A Las Vegas and is expected to make his debut next week against the New York Yankees.

"I'm so glad to be able to play baseball again and to get this chance is just a dream come true for me." Clement said before boarding a plane to meet the team in Anaheim where the Jays will open up a short two game series Wednesday night.

LOL, he was awesome game one but game two he didnt really have an impact on the outcome, when I signed him I was hoping for a 15 HR, 60 RBI season from him and I think he can do that.

Tough loss, Shoppach was great for a change.

eh, he was aight, he only hit the homer because I threw a terrible slider that cut right down the middle of the zone.
If he didnt hit that out of the park he deserved to be burned at the stake.

Yah, I'm extremely impressed with the realism this has given me, I wouldn't be surprised if the real life Jays followed the exact same path as I am on right now.
