LOL, you were right man. There was a couple tense moments in that series through and it could have easily been a 3-1 Royals series instead of a 4-0 sweep if they had a few bounces there way.

Jays close to deal with Edmonds

TORONTO, ON -- A day after hitting 3-4 with a triple in the best performance of his young career, Travis Snider got a little bit on bad news from GM J.P. Riccardi.

Riccardi's message?

Sorry Travis but you'd be better in Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Blue Jays GM announced after his teams 8-7 loss to the division rival Baltimore Orioles last night that the Jays are extremely close to signing 8 time Gold Glover Jim Edmonds to a one year deal and that Snider is the odd man out.

"We think that right now, Travis would be better suited in Las Vegas where he can continue to hone his skills and improve on an already steller game," Riccardi said last night," Jim gives us a great defensive presence that can hit as well and I look forward to him becoming a Blue Jay."

Edmonds could not be reached for comment but he and his agent are flying to Toronto tomorrow morning to finalize a deal with the Blue Jays.

He is expected to make his Jays debut next Monday against the Cleveland Indians.

OAKLAND, CA--In arguably baseballs best division so far this year, a team needs a big bat to compete.

Texas has Chris Davis and Josh Hamilton, Anaheim has Vlad Guerrero and Torii Hunter and even Seattle has Adrian Beltre and Ken Griffey Jr, yet the team that going into the campaign was looked as having the least power in the division is leading the entire leagues in runs scored.

A big factor of that change: Matt Holliday.

Holliday was acquired in an offseason trade with the Colorado Rockies and leads the AL in Home Runs and RBIs.

"Matt has been everything we expected and more and I am so happy we made this trade." A's GM Billy Beane said of the powerful slugger.

The A's are tied for the division lead with the Rangers, in no small part thanks to Holliday and the offense he brought.

It's Official! Edmonds a Jay, Snider down to Las Vegas

TORONTO, ON -- After almost a week of circulating rumors, the Blue Jays have added another bat to there lineup today as they signed former St.Louis Cardinal Jim Edmonds to a one year deal.

The two sides had been talking for weeks and were trying to get a deal done before the Oriole series but, Edmonds was not able to because of a family emergency. Now, GM J.P. Riccardi can rest easy through as the 8 time Gold Glover is now a Jay and is expected to be an alternate outfielder and perhaps a DH.

"Jim is a terrific guy who, while he is still up there in age can still do the things that made him a great player ten years ago," Riccardi said at the introductory press conference in Toronto last night, "Not only that but Jim adds a veteran prescense in a young locker room."

Jays rookie outfielder Travis Snider will be sent down for conditioning in Triple-A Las Vegas even through he has hit the ball well in a recent three game stretch.
