Do you honestly believe Kanter is capable of being "elite" or leading any team?

We have no idea ... but 7'0 260 is elite size so he has a chance to be an elite center.

Will he lead the Cavs to the promised land? Who knows, they had the most talented player in the NBA for 7 years and couldn't win one ... Chances are neither Irving nor Williams nor Kanter is the guy to give them a championship.

But if we're talking about value, an above average center is more valuable than an above average PG. For the record, I'd probably take Williams 1st if I were Cleveland, but Kanter would be the pick over Irving.

I think you are forcing Knight @ #3...I don't think he's that good...I'd rather pawn my #3 pick and get a veteran PG that isn't even high end...fack, trade off the #3 for Ray Felton if you need a PG that bad.

But really, why trade Deron only to take Brandon Knight...I hate those kind of trades in all leagues. If you want to move Deron for help elsewhere (and the Jazz know how a top PG gets you no where...Stockton and Deron Williams), you go ahead and do that...but to trade top player at a position and use said pick on same position for a lesser player...dumb.

Like I've said, PG in the NBA is like RB in the NFL. The position certainly has value and there is a point where value = pick, but not at #1. Hell, Chris Paul or Deron Williams, the two best PGs in the NBA didn't go #1 overall.

I truly believe Irving is the best player in this draft but for the sake of the Cavs, their two BEST options are to either grab Irving and Kanter or go Williams and Knight/Walker.

I do understand those who say grabbing a player at a position filled with so much talent probably won't make much difference but still I look at Irving again as a premiere talent who can do it all on the court. His only knock to me is he isn't as athletic and he was a bit out of shape but he's been working on that.

This draft has a ton of PG prospects that could probably become something if you have the right one that fits the system. Being that Byron Scott has coached the likes of Kidd and Paul, i'm sure he'd love to have Irving on his team.

For the record, if I am Cleveland, I'm taking Williams or Kanter @ #1, Williams if I think Kanter is there @ #4, and that gives me two good enough players out of a draft with a whole lot of crap.

The Leonard kid from SDSU...I at least know he'll settle in as a defender in the league, if nothing else (ie: doesn't develop an offensive game).

Alec Burks from Colorado...he can create his own shot and score...that is never underrated in the league, even if he projects as a third guard, the Sixers had a successful season with guys like him scoring off the bench. A player with just a high floor, where you know he'll at least be a contributor...I don't think he's a PG, but more a combo guard off the bench. Heck, you never know, maybe he grows and becomes Joe Johnson *shrugs* or maybe he just becomes a poor man's Jamal Crawford or a bigger Lou Williams...either way, he'll contribute.

Jan Vesely...you know he'll at least be able to play some D for you and has a lot of potential to boot, but his floor as a role player is pretty high.

Funny that draft seems similar to this one. Andrew Bogut went first...he's a top 5 center but really how much difference has he made (injuries aside)? Makes you wonder about drafting a Kanter in this one @ one.

Irving is a base hit type...I mean, he's not a bum, but I wouldn't build my franchise around him either...he's not Rose, Williams, or Paul. He gives me a Mike Conley level vibe. TIFWIW.

Ina draft filled with junk, a few players I think can at least be role players...

Jordan Hamilton...he can hit a shot and at least provide some bench scoring. Got some size and isn't overly weak anywhere.

Kenny Faried...he's athletic and can rebound and defend. There is always a spot for guys who can grab rebounds and compete on defense. Usually guys like this you get in the second round (DeJuan Blair anyone?) but he'll move up into the first because the draft sucks.

Jimmer...I mean, if JJ Reddick and Kyle Korver can carve out nice niches for themselves as shooters...why can't Jimmer? I mean, Eddie House is still collecting paychecks, too. Maybe he's more of a Jack McClinton, but, I'd like to put a little more faith in a guy like Jimmer.

Devin Harris does still exist, just saying. Based on rumors it does not seem that they are committed to him, but he is a more than serviceable point guard.

I completely disagree about the point guard position, having a good point guard is just as important as having good players at any other position, it completely depends on the makeup of the team. Chris Paul and Deron Williams both led their teams that consisted of average talent to 50 win seasons year after year, and the fact that they didn't go #1 is just a matter of circumstance.

Irving may not win a race with between him Knight and Wallker but he is far from being unathletic, and besides I don't think being able to perform highlight dunks is what teams are looking for in a point guard. He is already probably the best finisher of the three already and easily has the best leadership qualities.

You get somebody incredibly athletic and in a few months of studying and working on the NBA game they are already far surpassing Irving.

This never happens lol, Russell Westbrook is a very rare specimen.

For Cleveland, the idea of drafting Williams at #1 and then sending Pick #4, Varejao, and $7 million to the Spurs for Tony Parker and DeJuan Blair seems like a no-brainer.

here Brandon Knight was a good college player, i dont think he's worthy of a top 5 pick. He took over some games but he had just as many where he tried to take over and built a house of bricks. He's a smart kid and seems like a hard worker but 3rd overall seems high. Brandon Knight has the potential to be a really good pg but hes not a day 1 starter like John Wall was. I like Kemba over Irving and Knight, but im not a NBA scout so what do i know.


Enes Kanter is barnone the best C prospect in this draft IMO. He dominated the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit. He dominated his UK teammates in practice all year long. He has great size and hands. He's a banger who can also knock down the 3. DOnt think just because he's a Euro and has 3 pt range hes a softy, hes a beast on the block. Demarcus Cousins was probably the best big man from the 2010 draft and its widely accepted that Kanter is better in just about every aspect of his game than Cousins was going into the draft. He's a grown man who is obsessed with the Undertaker, thats the only knock on him.

Im just thrilled Deandre Liggins is even getting mentioned in mocks in round 2, i didnt think he had a shot at getting drafted unless someone really wanted a defender.
