NCAA Basketball 09-10 Thread

Penn State falls once again, blowing a 16-point lead.

With some of the talent returning from a NIT championship team last season, I didn't necessarily expect a tournament berth, but at least a few conference wins at this point.

Ed Dechellis needs to go.

I'm going to UGA next year and want to get in to basketball coaching, and it just so happens I have some nice connections in the athletic dep't there. Even if that means starting as a student manager and making contacts with the powers that be, I'm willing to do it. Should be interesting.

The Atlanta area produces a good crop of talent every year. If Fox could just get two of the top 5 every year, they would compete for SEC titles IMO.

Yep, that first game should be great. I see Syracuse taking care of business in the Carrier Dome and Mizzou giving Kansas a run for their money.

Pretty epic turnaround considering G'Town were up 14-0 to start . Wes Johnson showed why NBA scouts are calling him a lottery pick next year
 
Much like the Nova loss two weeks ago, you can live with losing on the road to a top 10 team if your a Hoya fan.

Syracuse zone was as good as i've seen it in years, and G'town couldnt handle their bigs--especially with Monroe in foul trouble.
 
Kansas is fun to watch when Cole Aldrich messes around and almost gets triple doubles.

Kansas at K-State on Saturday should be crazy.
 
UNC and NC st are tied at 43 in the second half.

I could see them losing at Vandy and in Lexington vs Ole Miss honestly.

Vandy is better than they were when they had Matt Freije, they are a complete team now with 5 or 6 legitimate scorers

UNC defeats NC State, 77-63.

Big men were the key to this game...Davis had a double-double and Thompson had 20. Larry Drew finally got his act together and only turned the ball over once.

Good win and it's nice to end that losing streak.

Key was also John Henson. He came in the 2nd half & set the tone defensively, getting some huge blocks & deflections. If UNC is going to get better, they are going to have to play harder on the defensive end, slow the tempo, & play Strick more @ the 2 instead of Ginyard getting the bulk of the minutes.

Marcus isn't keeping the opponent honest defensively, has become turnover prone &, sadly, isn't providing the leadership he was expected to bring.

Yeah, Ginyard has been a huge disappointment this season, but this entire team has been too.

And Henson was great; it was nice to see some positive things from him finally.
