I've seen this happen before. The game seems to give a heavy nod to teams with a Conf. Championship game, no matter how the player did in the actual game.

[size=-2]I started my career as an offensive coordinator at North Texas, running the Oregon spread offense. I felt that North Texas would be a good place to start out of all the 1 star schools because they had Lance Dunbar at running back, arguably the best player in the Sun Belt conference. While my spread offense was pretty effective in some games, I really feel like I underutilized what I had in Dunbar, although the stats won't show it. I still have a lot of work to do in developing this spread offense, but this was a pretty solid start to my career. However, despite the fact that we had a great year for a Sun Belt team, I still feel like our season wasn't that great. We really benefited from beating up on the crappy teams in our conference, only beating one team all year with a record above .500 which was in our bowl game against Toledo, the MAC conference champs. I really wish we could have hung around and tried to sneak in a win against Arkansas State, but they hammered us pretty good, as did Houston, Alabama, and Tulsa, the only other tough games on the schedule. Recruiting was really tough with this 1 star school, but I actually like this recruiting class coming in. I wouldn't mind staying here another year, but with Dunbar graduating, I might just have to leave if the right offer comes up.[/size]

[size=-2]Quarterback play was very shaky for us this year. Derek Thompson was very good at times and very bad at times. In my wide open spread offense, he often had to make quick decisions, and that was something that sometimes proved costly for him. However, he definitely had the ability to make that big play and will certainly improve in the future. He is only a sophomore and is already a 76 OVR, (which is great in the Sun Belt) so the team is in his hands next year. Osborn came in when Thompson got a little hurt a couple of times and executed the offense pretty well. He may never start, but he will certainly be a more than serviceable backup in the future. [size=-2]Without a doubt, Lance Dunbar was the best weapon in this offense. He proved that he can run the ball with the best of him, finishing sixth in the nation in rushing yards this season. However, like I said before, I feel like we wasn't used as much as he should have been. Regardless, it was a great season for Dunbar. Hamilton came in when Dunbar came out, which seemed to be often as Dunbar was very injury prone. Hamilton was a bit of a touchdown vulture, equaling Dunbar's trips to the endzone. In the first game of the season, both Dunbar and Hamilton got hurt, and Jimmerson came in and shined, breaking off a 91 yard TD, which was over half of his total yards for the year. He will undoubtedly be the starter next year. Of course, in a spread offense, the quarterback will be running quite a bit, and Derek Thompson did just that. His yardage is low because he was sacked for a lot of negative yardage, but his running ability improved throughout the year. His scrambling ability is one of the biggest reason's we won our bowl game this year.[/size]

[size=-2]We really had no one player stand out at receiver. Instead, we just spread the ball around the best we good. Stradford led the way, and was mainly a sideline receiver, totaling good yardage. On the other side, you had Breece Johnson who was pretty much just as good as Stradford had he caught a few more balls. Dunbar was a very explosive receiver out of the backfield. More than half of his yards were after the catch. Brelan Chancellor had an excellent freshman year out of the slot and is the future at this position. B.J. Lewis had great speed and was primarily a deep threat, as emphasized by his 24.6 yards per catch. Like Dunbar, Hamilton was great coming out of the backfield, with 97 yards after the catch.[/size]

LOOKING FORWARD

I was offered the offensive coordinator job, and I took it. I might have a offered a head coaching gig at a bad school, but I felt like this was the best route for me. I'm not sure if I will be able to get Robert Griffin III to return or not, but I'm really hoping I can because next season could be a great one with him at quarterback in my spread offense.

I was so drunk/high last night I accidentally skipped past the Players Leaving step without even looking. I was so scared when I checked my roster the next year that I lost my QB, Crowder, or anyone else. To my surprise, nobody left. My FS and SS will both be 99s next season, so yeah, should be fun. Good luck to all the wide receivers out there that plan on coming across the middle against those guys.

With Crowder and the RB Bell returning on offense, plus three senior linemen, this team is poised for a national title run. Anything less shall be a disappointment.

A relatively weak recruiting class so far, very disappointing to say the least. I'm looking forward to my linebacker depth, but I need to get a couple more offensive recruits to help the losses i'm expecting due to graduations.

Talk about my season

 

The season started off rough, very similar to last season. Gillett throwing interceptions left and right, offensive line doing a poor job and Gillett getting sacked, poor run blocking..the first three games were terrible on offense and defense.

The Michigan game is where the whole team, particularly Gillett, just played better. The offensive line held their assignments and I ran for over 300 total yards against Michigan's defense with Greene and Fleming, and squeaked out a win on the last drive by kicking a last second field goal. After the first four games, being 1-3 and having the hardest part of the schedule out of the way, I focused on the MAC teams ahead, and with the improving play of my offense and defense, I was able to go on a four game win streak, before losing to at the time, 0-7 Kent State Golden Flashes. That game was a definite set back, but finshed the season with another four game win streak.

My offense has been decent statistically, but extremely better than last season. #22 in the nation in total offense (4791), #62 in rush offense (2001), and #15 in pass offense (2790), have led me to a lot of points and blow out wins this year against teams I struggled against last year.

My defense has stood strong this year, being #7 in the nation in total defense (3425). The #1 rush defense in the nation helps, only allowing 1098 yards in 12 games, while my pass defense was terrible, being #75th in the nation allowing 2332 passing yards. Having a porous pass d helped in the turnover department, having a +7 difference, #20 in the nation, thanks to interception after interception.

I'm extremely excited to play the Championship game and see what bowl bid I receive, which would be a huge step for Eastern Michigan, their first bowl bid since 1987 I think.

Florida State caps off successful season with bowl win

Notre Dame won the coin toss and elected to defer into the second half, Florida State began with its best drive since opening the game against SMU with a first play touchdown. Nick Petty and company went downfield, with him punching it into the endzone at the 5:03 mark. Notre Dame didn't blink as Jake Bell hit DaVaris Daniels to take it down inside the 5 as McIntosh punched it in for a 7-7 tie. Florida State took their next possession and Nick Petty would bang his way into the endzone for a 14-7 lead and on the next Irish possession the game would drastically change as Bell throws an interception that sets up a FSU FG, 17-7. The next possession for the Irish saw LOLB Kyle Thompson read Bell's eyes perfectly and stepped in front for the interception turned into points. The ensuing kickoff, the Irish returner decided to bring the ball out of the endzone while a streaking defender would lay a big hit, forcing a fumble as Blair Waters picked the ball up and dove into the endzone putting a monsterous 31 points up in the first quarter.

Notre Dame would find the endzone in the second quarter but FSU was able to get three of those points back before the end of the half to lead 34-14 as the Irish would need a huge second half from Jeff Bell to get back into the game for any chance of victory.

That didn't happen as Nick Petty and the Florida State defense stepped up, Petty 2 more touchdowns and defense forced six interceptions and collected two sacks. Notre Dame offense would produce but as much as they produced they would go back twice with bad turnovers and the defense could not get off the field. Florida State and Notre Dame combined coming into the game with 4 National Titles with 2 between them and representing all the hardware in Chaos this release, and now Florida State breaks the tie with their third National Title!

So I hadn't played this game for a week or so and I just got back into my dynasty. I beat #8 Oklahoma to go to 10-0 and ranked #4 in the nation. My next game is against 5-4 Texas AM and they beat me 30-16. My offense played absolutely terrible. We had 8 drops and my o-line was letting everyone through. My defense wasn't all that either as they just no huddled me to death. My linebackers cannot cover anyone and left guys open all over the field.

So my NC hopes are gone but I still get to play in the Big 12 title game because I hold the tiebreaker over Texas. I'm not losing too many guys so hopefully we can make another run next year.

Finished the 2017 Kent St. season with the Big East Championship (1st year) but a 2nd straight loss in the Orange Bowl. This time I lost 55-31 to #13 Pitt. I ended up being #8 in the Coaches Poll (#9 Media). I signed a 2 year extension with Kent St. I had the #4 recruiting class; jumping from #70 before offseason recruiting started.

I began the 2018 season ranked #20. My first game was Home against my rival Bowling Green and I demolished them 87-7. My starting SR (RS) SS had 4 INT's, 2 of them brought back for TDs (incl. 1 for 84yds). I felt real good because I recruited him in 2014 as a 2* (#62) SS. Currently, I am 2-0 after beating Iowa 31-24 (Away game). That is one school I wouldn't mind being a HC; taking me back to when I was the HC with Drew Tate as QB.

edit: I added fictional characters from Friday Night Lights TV Show to this year recruiting class. #6 QB Jason Steet is at ND, #20 RB Brian "Smash" Williams is at Texas A&M. I ended up adding #7 QB Matthew Saracen & #33 FB Tim Riggins to my roster. I'll probably add QB J.D. McCoy and Vince Howard in two years.

Finished my 6th season at SMU by going 13-1 and finishing #5 in the coaches and #2 in the media poll. We beat #8 VTech in the Fiesta Bowl 45-14. Second year in a row we've destroyed our bowl game opponents. I also won the Big 12 Championship which was nice. Not losing too many guys, all of my receivers are returning as well some of my better defenders. I've got three DBs who look like they could end up being great players. They all have quite a few deflections, just need to turn those into picks.

Miles didn't really step it up until later in the season, before that different guys we're showing up some games and disappearing in others. Hagen as well, he was splitting time until my starter went down for the year and he came in and probably got 9 of those touchdowns in 4 games. Morris played like any freshman would really. If he did well early, then he did well all game. If he didn't than it was a bumpy ride. He put up good numbers but I'm not sold on him as my starter next season.

Hoping to earn a spot in the NC next year.

Alright so in my last update was Cameron Bush last year. Well I decided to stay another year and try to line up a good HC job. I ended up going 10-3 and winning the Fiesta Bowl. Some notable stats are:

I had shitty head coaching offers but decided to test out the Head Coaching experience at PURDUE for 1 year contract.

Bit of background info before the goat game update. I ended up going 9-4 (5-4 conference) and still got into the Allstate Sugar Bowl against #9 Auburn in which this amazing game took place.

Game was a defensive sided game up until the OT. First quarter went scoreless as well as most of the 2nd quarter until I broke free for a 72 yard TD run late 2nd. In the 3rd quarter Auburn passed into the end zone 3 yds out for a TD to tie it up. In the 4th it was a locked score at 7-7 until 1:23 left on the clock when I tossed a 63 yd screen for a TD. They drove down the field and with 3 seconds left and no timeouts, they caught a 5 times bobbled pass to send it to OT.

In 1st OT we both scored easily. 2nd OT was the same. 3rd OT was crazy as fuck. They scored on their 2nd play from scrimmage but went for a two point conversion in which I stopped them. I had a couple small runs and passes but got stuffed at the 2 on 3rd down. On 4th and 2 to tie it up I did a FB fake HB pitch and FB fumbled. It looked like they were on their way to a scoop and score but the same HB came and fixed a fumble. The same HB scooped and actually scored. I accidentally went for two. But fortunetaly made it. 38-36.

Fucking amazing game. I would like to Leave for a bigger school, UT knowing this save file illget fucked.

Despite Robert Griffin III having a great year at Baylor in my dynasty, it is actually my running back Jarred Salubi that is in the Heisman race. He is leading the nation is rushing yards by over 150 yards. He is good for a long TD a game. He may not win the Heisman because RG3 steals a lot of rushing touchdowns from him. Went into Michigan (who is an A overall) and beat them with a game-winning field goal. I started off strong with a couple kick returns and was able to hold them off.

The week after my star Freshman CB skipped classes and is now failing, so I suspended him for two games. My really good Freshman WR got into a fight at a club and he is gone for 3 games. Lastly, a starting TE skipped a mandatory team meeting to go play NCAA Football 2009 with his friends...WTF. So he is out for a game.

I win a big game and all hell breaks loose.

So we took out Nebraska in the BIG TEN Conference Championship game. We played probably the worst game of the year but got lucky in the end.
