I have a very set number I like to keep my roster at, which completely dictates my recruiting. 5 QBs, 5 HBs, 2 FBs, 7 WRs, 3 TEs, 5 Ts, 5 Gs, 3 Cs, 5 DEs, 4 DTs, 5 OLBs, 4 MLBs, 7 CBs, 3 FSs, 3 SSs, 3 K/Ps. That gives me 69 guys, allowing me to target a big-time athlete, or some top ten recruit who has interest in me (I play with Texas right now).

My recruiting board is filled only with the positions I need to fill, and only the proper amount...if I only need one QB, I only target one QB until I either sign him, or I determine that he's too far out of reach. So for instance I have seven WRs right now, so I'm not recruiting one this year...even though the top ten WRs in the nation have interest in me.

agreed to a point....as you wont have as many guys that have your school #1 and also your pitches will be pretty crappy, making it even more important that you go after guys in your pipeline and that are very interested in signing you.

I've never noticed that but I'll be looking for that for now on.

Random side note: I put Texas State into the Sun Belt as a 1-star program in my dynasty, CPU controlled. And they landed the 8th best player in the nation, a WR, in the first year of the dynasty. He's a 79 OVR, and the best player on the team as a true freshman. Lulz.

I really need to focus on recruiting more. It seems like such a fun side task. It is tedious though.

I'll set my board up with 15-20 guys.

However, I'll only really focus on 10-15 per week.

By mid-season, I'm flowing in recruits every few weeks...even as a 1* prestige team.

I will typically go for 10-15 freshmen. Then I add another 10 JUCOs on my board, and every few weeks I look for those players (mostly good 3*, 2* and 1* JUCOs) that haven't gotten offered by anyone nor have cut their list down. Throw them a few weeks, even if they show no interest initially. Sooner or later, as the weeks wear on and they don't get other offers, suddenly, you'll jump into their list, probably right outside the Top 5. Then put the full court press on them. By the end of the recruiting period, you should be this guys #1 and he'll sign with you nearly uncontested. These guys also occasionally get those late offers, but by then you should have a significant lead. These guys are usually the players I don't really pay attention to until I get the first 5-7 priority signings or have those same 5-7 in a significant lead. Then I start working on these guys hard toward the end of the season.

I typically disregard star numbers unless its one of my coaches goals to get to a certain recruiting level. More often than not, getting a 3* freshman and competing hard for him is less beneficial than recruiting a 1* JUCO kid uncontested. The JUCO kid will come in 70+ while the freshman will come in the low 60's for those really down trodden 1* prestige teams. You are going to do a better job winning early and soon with those JUCOs than the freshmen. Also, no promises need to be made unless you are desperate.

I did a sim dynasty with Akron and had the team win the MAC within 3 seasons just by building this way...the JUCOs were mid-80's by the time they graduated (redshirt a few and these guys will be high-80's by the time they graduate). After year 3 and my first MAC title, I had the best overall roster in the MAC conference. I had like 6 first team All-MAC players and another 5 on the second team.

JUCOs were key on the offensive and defensive line. Plug n play...especially for an Akron team that was awful on the lines. After year 1, you basically had 3 scholarship defensive linemen (one DT and 2 DE, one being a senior). First year, grabbed two JUCO DTs + 2 freshmen DTs and 1 JUCO DE + 3 freshmen DEs (one freshman was a * kid that was undersized but speedy and better than the two local junk 3* kids I signed). Two of the linemen ended up All-MAC (JUCO D-Tackle 1st Team and freshman DE 2nd team). Signed three JUCO O-Linemen...two ended up starting and were better OVR than the guys they replaced.

JUCOs ya'll...key to success with those junk teams.

The CPU playcalling in this game is fucking infuriating. I have a beautiful set of AA sliders that I'm using right now, and I love the way the game plays with a few exceptions. But I'm constantly forced to compensate for the dumb-ass computer. I can't tell you how many times I've seen them run on 3rd and long.

Example, I'm playing Oklahoma. They're down by like 20 points. So they get the ball in the 4th, and they run the ball on 1st down. Then they call a timeout. 2nd & 7? Option play, loss of 4. Third down? Screen pass. Of course...that's how you come from behind.

I've ran a couple of dynasties so far on 12.

I've got my Ohio State dynasty, currently sitting at 11-1 and #3 in the country heading into a Big Ten Championship matchup with 11-1 #1 Michigan State, who I beat 28-24 on a late score in the regular season. I also squeaked by Wisconsin, and Miami by FG's (27-24, and 24-21 respectively), and beat Nebraska 25-14 thanks to 2 safeties by my defense and the suspended players returning as Boom ran for 164 yards on 32 carries and 2 TD's, while Posey had a couple of big catches. I did lose in 4OT against Penn State though, but it was probably the most amazing game I've ever played. Braxton is a monster, I think he's thrown for 21 TD and something like 7 INT this year. I'll probably continue this after the patch drops, I've got the nation's #1 recruiting class committed that includes 6 5*'s and 8 4*'s.

There's my old coaching career dynasty, this one was pretty much a goof around just for fun. I started off as the OC at Kent State. One of my buddies (Old high school QB) plays WR for them, so I edited him to be pretty good and relied on him to lead us to a 10-4 year and a MAC title, but he was as senior and graduated. I took the Mississippi State job after that year, and promptly went 13-1 and 14-0, winning the NC in my second year. Somehow, Mullen had managed to pull in a 5* RB who was 6'0 220 with 95 speed and 98 acceleration and 86 overall prior to me coming, and he was dominant. Ran for just shy of 4,000 yards and 45 TD in 2 years before I got the OSU job and left. I went 13-1 there, as Braxton and the other guys were seniors and had a prolific offense. Defense needed some work, but I addressed that in recruiting. Currently 2-0 in 2015, but I haven't touched this in probably a month.

And then there's my current head coaching career, another goof off one until the patch drops. Went 11-2 in my first year as the OC at Middle Tennessee, The Sun Belt sucks, and I had a dominant run game. Went to Arizona and went 7-6 as the OC, but had the nation's #1 ranked passing offense. Went to Oklahoma next. They were the defending national champs and riding a 14 game winning streak when I arrived to replace Josh Heupel as the OC. I came in, and directed them to another 13-0 season and another NC, and had a Heisman winner in my RB Johnathan Miller. Next year, I had to replace my starting QB, top RB, top 2 WR's, but the Big 12 is so weak (I moved out Texas A&M to the SEC) that I still went 12-0 in the regular season (I had a couple of close calls, beat Baylor, Texas, and Iowa State by FG's) but then USC beat me 56-49 in 2OT to end our 39 game win streak.

I got hired as the HC at LSU right after that game. They were coming off of a 5-7 year, but were still loaded with talent. I went 11-2, with an upset of #1 ranked Auburn, but got crushed by Alabama and also lost to Florida, but won my bowl game in dominating fashion. The next year, I had a 98 ovr rated redshirt sophomore QB, a 93 ovr rated sophomore RB, and I rode them to a 14-0 season and a National championship. Currently sitting at 4-0 in 2016, yet to really get into the SEC schedule.

I've used SilentNature's All-American sliders on OS for all my dynasties with slight tweaks as I've gotten better, 8 minute quarters, 43 threshold and slow speed.

I get pulling it out once in awhile because if someone is setting up a throw deep defence, and you are on 2nd, maybe a 3rd depending on RB, you throw a switch and run it. But yeah, I got this as well where 4th quarter and down, but with in reach, they take off running.

I need to do something with my sliders, because the Big East is not strong at all, that if I get by the 2-3 hard opponents I have a year, I'm basically going perfect. Went perfect in my first season, and in my second year I'm like 6-0 as well, but I did have sweet games against Oklahoma and Virginia Tech, so not like it was an insane thing. If I am beating those teams, then teams like Buffalo, Rutgers and that should be cake walks.

see for me I think the CPU runs on 3rd and Long because they have a history of gashing me with their run game

Yeah I need a new one as well I think, and maybe a new team and restart. Pittsburgh is fun, but I'm find out how shit the Big East is, and its just a cake walk with the team I have. Just trying to decide if I want a shit school, or an alright school. Sucks not having a "team" to cheer for as this would make things so much easier.

These are based on someone's sliders at OS, with my tweaks. I will say that I am still tweaking them. I'm still trying to improve the CPU's offense as a whole, and I may need to turn down my ground game...but that remains to be seen.

3rd down -----A DRAW. It's 3rd and 18 and we run a draw with 30 seconds running on the clock. I pick up like 6 yards.

4th down ----------MOTHER FUCKING RUN UP THE MIDDLE

the play calling has almost always been bad. Lately it has gotten worse but this version is actually better than last year.

it amazing how 2 EA football games can have such a huge contrast each year. NCAA always plays great and is the better game imo. But this years game, while great, had some mind numbing crap that just ruins the gameplay experience. Some of the BS plays and AI choices just made it unbearable for me.

then u have madden which we all say is a turd for one reason or another. But this years game is amazing on the field. And playing the cpu is like seeing a real nfl team run an offense. I play and wonder if im really playing madden or if its 2K hiding in a madden box. Their playcalling is supurb. When have u ever played the CPU and had them lead in time of possession? it is rare and if it happens its usually real close. I just played one where the cpu had the ball 10 mins longer than i did and they won the game
