most players are not studs....that means they need to do everything in their power to make it. if that means creaming the oppositions star player so he is carted off the field, then so be it.

Teams/players have a way of policing themselves. You also have a small group of guys who have played football together their entire lives. They might have played together in college, many of them went to the same summer camps. Then these same guys play with and against each other in the NFL for a number of years. You have a certain level of respect for your fellow NFL player, and if you make a dirty play against someone, odds are there is going to be retribution.

The idiots in this thread make it seem as if every game is a bloodbath, and every player is trying to injure every other player on every single play. Have any of you played football before? Seriously.

I guess I just have a problem with the statement that most NFL players are not out to intentionally injure each other.
