At the end of the day over reacting will be the norm ,accelerating money making "player safety" rules , and further watering down the product.
I know full well Saints bounty led to questionable hits. I don't understand the need for a YT video or "proof" when common sense and human psychology would tell you all you need to know. Even if a saint never committed a penalty the premise that there was an outside the usual means of pay incentive to injure is all that matters. Nothing wrong with asking for proof or facts before passing judgement but asking for a video or proof with everything thats come out is missing the point.
Do you need documented papers that ESPN highlights have led to a culture of D.Lineman digging graves and flexing muscles on routine tackles ? Or do you just realize the incentive of being on tv is enough to make a borderline guy act like a total retard for a stupid reward ? You think that same guy wont aim to land hard on a shoulder for 20 K ?
Listen Im the first in line for RAAWWRR FOOTBALL LET EM GET HIT!!!! FUCK DA RUL3Z.
Making every other hit illegal AND allowing bounties will only result in players finding oddball ways to injure a guy. Some rookie FA in the preseason could make a name for himself and an extra 10 k for diving at a knee or yanking an arm of a QB mid motion. Then you have "Manning out for season , Wheres Tebow" headline and 438975894230 new rules to make sure that doesnt happen again.
