The thing that has me hesitant about this game is how much I've heard that while the good stuff is really good, there is just too much MMO shit in between. Why, oh why, couldn't they just have made another fucking KoTOR?

i started playing this tonight. played for about 3 hours and loved every minute of it. Still adjusting to using a m/kb though. I chose a Sith Inquisitor. The abilities are pretty dam cool.

i wont be one of those people renewing. I can barely muster up the interest to play thru the 30 days i got for free. the more you play the more u realize that the game is full of tedious missions and dull gameplay. i am not a huge fan of the long drawn out bioware story dialog....i can deal with it, but its not a selling point. So for me its alot of get mission...run for 10 minutes to the area, kill bad guys, run back to mission giver.

killing bad guys isnt even fun. u just kind of stand there and watch your guy perform various animations as u select the move he will perform...its not all that appealing.

the game looks cool and has a quality amount of production value, but the gameplay and quests are not worth paying for on a monthly basis. I am glad i only paid $30 for the game and not $60.....but i regret spending the $30

Also, I'm not sure if it was the conversion or what but those screen shots looked pretty crappy. Tons of jaggies and just bland design. But it is a MMO so I wouldn't expect it to knock my socks off graphically.

More money to be made with an MMO, especially since the failure of Galaxies. LucasArts wanted to tap that market again, and with the emphasis on The Force Unleashed, they weren't going to go back to a game like KOTOR or Jedi Knight. Those are two great franchises that define LucasArts and Star Wars, and it seems like they've written them off, which is a shame.

yep, thats the difference between 3 hours and 30 hours. things change as u go

one thing i totally hate is the leveling system....its non exsistant. leveling your guy may as well not even be in this game. 1-10 leveling u do absolutely nothing with leveling. u only get to visit skill trainers and buy new abilities or buy level ups for current abilities. After level 10 you open the skills tree. this is the only other addition to leveling. you earn 1 point per level to use on the tree for skills that are all passive...sure they make you perform better and have more powers. But its for shit like reducing cool down time or damage u take. nothing cool like the perks in skyrim/fallout....and only 2 abilities per section of the tree. you dont get to invest points into your willpower or strength like most RPG's. The only way to improve those skills is by wearing things that improve them. They naturally progrees on their own as you level up....but u have nothing to do with it.

in a market flooded with quality RPG i just dont get the thinking behind this game.

Neither do I. Because I would love to see another Jedi Knight game, KOTOR game or even an X-Wing game. I put so many hours into all three that its unbelievable.

Oh, and also, Battlefront 3. That needs to come out as well.

And it isn't as though they are lacking a story. The X-Wing games created stuff as they went, and they were able to fit in a couple missions (like the Suprosa raid from Shadows of the Empire in X-Wing Alliance) that people would recognize. They also have the entire expanded universe to pull from.

I also heard a few months ago that LucasArts put out an ad for someone experienced in a flight simulator, which means they are more than likely working on a Rogue Squadron or X-Wing game. And I can't believe I forgot Rogue Squadron either, though it is kind of understandable considering the mediocrity of the third.

Rogue Squadron is still my favorite N64 game. Yes I like it more than Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros.

For those that are interested, there is an episode of the Giant Bombcast from 01/10/12 where Gerstmann goes pretty in depth about this game. While he has played it extensively, approaching level 50 I believe, he doesn't have a lot of good things to say about it.

The only gripe I have so far (and it isn't from an MMO perspective) is that you don't start out with a lightsaber as a Jedi. Star Wars games, with the exception of Force Unleashed, always make you wait it out to get a lightsaber and that part of the game drags on.

Get a desktop and hook it up to your TV, and find a decent wireless keyboard/mouse set from somewhere on line.

i got some more time in tonight. i have to cancel by feb 9th and i highly doubt i will be motivated enough to finish the main story by then....i was enjoying myself tonight, but i stopped because i got bored. its all the same old run to an area, kill bad guys, run back type quests....way to much running from area to area. half the time i just auto run and just control the direction.....its pretty boring after awhile

I'm trying to cut some time by getting a bunch of side quests together and then going out to finish them. It is helping some, though I wouldn't mind not having enemies respawn as fast as they do. Nothing is more frustrating than clearing an area out five minutes ago and then going through it again after finishing a quest and clearing again.

When I was playing I would just do all the quests in an area at once and quick travel. Seemed like an efficient system
