McNair was great competitor, is he a HOFer? It's a toss up; Regardless we don't get to decide who goes in the HOF & that's a good thing since half of you fucks are homers anyways. If he gets in or if he doesn't it won't change a thing.

On Michael Jackson, MJ changed the way music is viewed today, he changed how videos are created, how choreography is done & by the looks of it now it made a HUGE impact on the music industry. Even though his childhood is one of the main reasons he was fucked in the head, most GREAT artist tend to be loonies.

Barely over 60% completion percentage, never threw for 4000 yards, career high 24 TD passes (and only threw for more than 20 three times).

He was a good player, nothing more. He's not a HOF caliber QB.

As for the bold, he stole and MVP. He "shared" it with Manning, who had better numbers across the board, and who's team finished ahead of McNair's in the standings, and beat beat McNair head to head twice that season. McNair's co-MVP was a lifetime acheivement award from the writers, who clearly liked him and couldn't wait to give him one the first chance they had. Manning got screwed.

Manning had more talent around him that year, plus McNair played injured almost every game. He had a more impressive season than Peyton that year.

Daunte played in a pass-based offense and he got to throw to Randy Moss and Cris Carter. Steve still put up 30000+ passing yards and 3000+ rushing yards playing in a run-based offense with receivers like Kevin Dyson and Drew Bennett. He's a HOFer.

Daunte put up 20,000+ yards and ran for 5,000 in 6 years while averaging 29.3 throws a game in Minnesota while McNair threw for 30,000 in 13 years in his career while averaging 25.1 throws a game, you also negelected to mention he also had guys catching the ball like Derrick Mason, Frank Wycheck and Eddie George who if anything, would have taken the brunt of the pressure off McNair during passing situations. Culpepper and McNair led their teams to similar records during that six year window, Culpepper had the same amount of Pro Bowl nominations as McNair (3), was named an All-Pro 1 more time, had a quarterback rating 7 points higher and had a much lower touchdown/inteception rating than Steve McNair.

If McNair gets in so should Culpepper even if it was just for his Vikings career

EDIT, also Carter left the Vikes in 2001 so he doesnt effect Culpepper's stats much

McNair was a better player than Culpepper, but the previous post does a good job to illustrate where McNair really should be slotted in the pantheon of his era-not much higher than a guy like Culpepper, who no one is putting in Canton.

McNair is one of the most consistantly overated players of this era, mostly because he played hurt (even though he missed plenty of games too, but whatever). He was a good player. Nothing wrong with being a good player. But you can't put every good player in the HOF. It's supposed to be for immortals, and i'm sorry, but you can't say Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, and Steve F'n McNair is the same sentance. One simply dosen't fit.

no MVP, no Super Bowl but I guarantee that if Culpepper had a defense like McNair had on the Titans he would have won a couple and Daunte fell off the face of the earth because of injuries, arguably worse than any McNair suffered
