Honestly, the ECW invasion is the perfect example of what's wrong with TNA at this point. It just shows how TNA seems almost utterly incapable of looking forward - they have an innate need to re-enact the past. No different from them deciding to redo the Montreal Screwjob back in January - for no apparent reason - or bringing back a new version of the "Four Horsemen". Its even more ironic since TNA has to be really careful about using the names "ECW" and "Four Horsemen" since they don't own the copyrights...

The easiest way to draw money in the wrestling business is to keep titles stgrong and build grudges around them. It worked for a century. Booking 101.
The first time they popped a rating with a hotshot title switch, the game changed, and now they will never go back. Penny smart, dollar dumb. Titles used to be props that drew money, now theyre just props.
Even Japan has resorted to the quickie switches and impatient booking routine. Sad.

If Orton can ramp it up to Diamond Dallas Page proportions as far as the Diamond Cutter/RKO is concerned, I could give a shit when he does it.
The point is to let the audience know that Orton can hit that shit at any point in a match/during a show and kill his opponent(s) DEAD.
My only concern is when the inevitable fuck-up will occur and cost another wrestler a few month's salary because something goes wrong.
But it doesn't make business or historical sense.
You don't bust out that kind of move during a brawl after a main event of a free cable show especially on the go-home show to a PPV.
That'd be like having a Money in the Bank match main eventing Raw and saying "Wasn't THAT awesome, now go drop $50 to just see what you saw!"
That's how I feel with that RKO, if you establish that big time moves, big time matches, main events are on PPV people will buy. If you continue to give away top tier matches, top tier finishes, highlight reel stuff on free TV, there's absolutely no reason for someone to purchase a PPV because by and large they'll start to realize over time they'll get everything they'd get from a $50 WWE PPV on free TV.
