Dan Gilbert wouldn't have thrown a temper tantrum, and Cleveland/the USA wouldn't hate Lebron if he hadn't have pulled all of the BS he did all summer. If he wasn't told on a daily basis how huge the decision would be and what it could mean for everybody etc then there is no way he does it on that show. If the media and ESPN themselves weren't willing to dish out SERIOUS cash for a televised event than he wouldn't of done it, the fact he took all that money and put it to charity should be commended.

Speaking before the Heat took on the Clippers at Staples Center, where the Cavs suffered a historic 112-57 loss to the Lakers the night before, James hedged on the meaning of his missive and then even the source.

In the tweet James wrote: "Crazy. Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. It's not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!"

It seemed that James was speaking about the Cavs, who have lost 11 in a row, and their struggles while taking a shot at team owner Dan Gilbert. Last July, in a letter to fans, Gilbert had predicted bad karma for James.

But James declined to fully explain his thoughts and then attempted to imply they weren't even his.

"It's just how I was feeling at the time," James said. "It wasn't even a comment from me, it was someone who sent it to me and I sent it out. It wasn't toward that team. It definitely wasn't a good showing by that team last night, I know they wish they would've played better."

If EVERYBODY told you how great you were, how awesome, you are arguably the best player in the world, you are the most sought after free agent in the history of professional basketball, or professional sports for that matter.... how would you react? Would you not go with the ideas for the decision brought up by your PR men who made you the icon that you already were? His PR made him one of the most beloved figures in sports, everybody loved LeBron... TRY and tell me it wouldn't be made into an incredible spectacle with specials and shows etc... look at all the insane publicity baseball players have received alone during free agency, and in the US Baseball is the 3rd wheel to Football and basketball. Basketball has by far the most publicized free agency and trade shit going on in sports, every time somebody is going to be a free agent ESPN goes fucking nuts. Imagine an absolute star, top 3 player in any other sport being a free agent and what would happen, how it would be pushed by the media.

Do you hate the fact that he went to Miami? The key word in free agents is "free," they are allowed to choose any team they want to play for as long as that team makes them a contract offer. They aren't obligated to return to their former team, especially when that former team is one that is not in position to win a title and doesn't provide the best opportunity to win multiple titles in the future.

Or do you hate the fact that LeBron had to make his decision so public? Well guess what, if LeBron had said "I'm staying in Cleveland" on that hour-special, I highly doubt anyone would be complaining about it.

Also, there was a lot of talk about the contrast between Durant and LeBron's approaches to their new contracts. People were saying how Durant went about his extension quietly, while LeBron needed to announce every detail to the world. Here are the facts. Firstly, Durant is a 3rd year player. LeBron signed his extension just as quietly during his 4th season. Let's see what Durant does in 5 years if Oklahoma City hasn't won a championship yet.

Peyton didn't hold Indy hostage and make the whole sports world revolve around him.. instead he inked an extension quietly, took some questions at a press conference and called it a day. No. They hate that he aired a one-hour special on TV after dicking around with all these other suitors like it was an episode of the Bachelor.. only then to plunge the knife deep into the back of all the fans that supported him. Durant did it the right way. Just like every NBA free agent in the history of free agency has ever done. Even Michael Jordan never put on this show.. and he above anyone else could have justified it. Amare Stoudemire didn't do it.. and they were all pretty notable free agents this year with the same "experience" as LeBron.
