I dont see how 1,2,5 were clearly Diaz's rounds, I thought all three of those were very close. IMO the only clear rounds were 3,4 for Condit. In 5 Condit had the upper hand striking but Diaz was able to get the TD and attempt a couple subs, could go either way if you ask me. Condit had a good gameplan, stuck to it, and won, I saw it 48-47. Just because Condit was moving backwards doesn't mean he was losing. He threw and landed more strikes than Diaz and didn't let Diaz find a rhythm. Nick isnt a power shot guy either, he overwhelms with volume and accuracy, so to say he landed the harder shots is debatable at best.

According to Fight Metric, Condit beat Diaz in every category last night. Including significant strikes. Those "baby kicks" that Diaz talked about wobbled his legs on multiple occasions.

Nick and Nate will always be whiny little fuckers. Condit frustrated and beat Diaz. Plain and simple. If Diaz didn't like Condit spinning off the cage, he should have done something to stop it.

Maybe Diaz would have landed more strikes if he didn't spend most of the fight gesturing and talking shit and maybe that would have won him the fight. So now Diaz can shut the fuck up and wait for his next opportunity.

BTW I had it scored 48-47 for Nick, but I was pulling hard for Nick, and had I been pulling hard the other way I may have seen it as 48-47 Carlos. The first 2 rounds were pretty tight, I think Nick clearly won round 1, and scraped by round 2. I thought Carlos very clearly won rounds 3 and 4, and I thought Nick clearly won round 5. So round 2 for me was the questionable one. Nick should've and couldve did more, but he let his frustration with Carlos' movement take him out of his game. Damn shame, too. Could've been a more entertaining fight. I doubt this is the last we see of Nick.

The fight was terrible and this is exactly why most of the UFC PPV's suck. No one is interested in fighting anymore, it's more beneficial for them to play it safe and get the win by any means. In other orgs, I don't know what it is, but the fighters have much more of a fighters mentality. Maybe it's the money in the UFC, or the incentive system. I don't think it would be a bad idea to take away win bonuses. If there's a 200k+ difference in payday between winning and losing, most people are going to lay and pray their way to a victory to collect the extra cash.

To be fair to Condit, he did win that fight. easily. It's also on Nick Diaz to figure out his style and put an end to the running the best way he can.

After reading this thread, my question becomes, what was Condit supposed to do? If he had moved forward, it seems pretty likely Diaz would have been able to use his typical volume attack and wear him down for a win. If we are going to force a fighter to use a specific style, we might as well have just given Diaz the belt before hand and saved everyone the trouble

thats not really the point, it goes a long the lines of judging and rewarding guys for not engaging and looking to point fight, almost like guys who get on top, hold tight and dont ever open open while the guy on the bottom is throwing up subs, trying sweeps and landing shots

Condit played tag for the most part, Diaz chased him around the cage and he would flicker out slap kicks and 'score', throw some strikes and turn and jog away with his back turned

This type of thing needs to be stopped, can you really give a guy a fight for backing up the entire fight and landed low power shots? is that what we are moving towards? Look at Cyborgs leg kicks to Nick compared to Condit

Hey, Condit has a kid, a family, he went win at all costs and 'won' and will get the big payday (GSP), oh well, it ultimately lies in the judges hands and decisions like this will lead to more guys fighting like this

A lot of people and fighters agree that Diaz won 1,2 and 5, some even give him 3
