Henderson is past his prime.. hes not a top 10 fighter anymore. This is a new breed.. Rashad would whoop Cote's ass, and would probably do the same to Hendo (Hendo's a tough dude so I wont say Shad will KO him) And im Canadian too.. I like Patrick Cote.. but hes not in this league. Dude was barely even able to keep his UFC contract before stringing off a couple wins.

I dont think so. He hasnt KO'd anyone since Vanderlei and that was 2+ years ago. This was a guy reknowned for his KO power. Hes still as tough as they come and an admirable fighter.. but his fights against Franklin and Palheres left something to be desired IMO. He should've finished both of those fights... Franklin looked sloppy and Palheres had his worst showing to date.

If its fair to call Rashad overrated, its definitely fair to call Hendo past his prime. I still think Henderson is a great fighter, just not a top 10 fighter.

I only put Cote on there really cuz he is a personal favorite of mine. Personally I think he came the closes to giving Silva a match. If he doesn't have that leg injury, he probably would have taken it to a decision.

I agree Cote was on the way out, but I think GSP and Mark DellaGrotte has lit a fire under his ass.

When he comes back I say put him against Leites, Bisping or Leben. As for Rashad, Cote doesn't fight at 205.

Cote has fought at 205 before actually.. but id expect him to stay at MW as his size can be more effective at that weight class.

Dont get me wrong, I like Patrick Cote. I wish him the best as a fighter.. and he has some of the heaviest hands in the business. Hes just far from a top 10 p4p fighter.

He still has KO power, he just hasn't caught anybody with it. Power is the last thing to go, long past a fighters prime. Dan's like 35, that's not passed a fighter's Prime.

Franklin has only been finished 3 times, twice by Anderson Silva, once by Machida. Saying he's passed his prime because he didn't finish a guy only two other people have finished is dumb.

No it isn't. Rashad is an average striker, with decent wrestling. People putting him in the top 5, or anywhere near it is absurd. I have yet to hear a decent line of reasoning for a 35 year old who's only two losses in the last 3 years were to a guy who is arguably the p4p best fighter in the world, and a guy who is much bigger than him.

Henderson going stretches without finishing fights and being renowned for KO power is all the more reason for him NOT to be a top 10 fighter IMO.

I say hes past his prime because his best days are behind him. That, IMO, defines being past your prime. Like I said, hes still a great fighter, just not what he once was.

He actually fought very well against Franklin but Franklin put up a brutal showing that nite.. but Palheres also looked terrible, is much smaller than Hendo and Hendo couldnt finish him that nite either. He didnt look all that spectacular himself.

When you break down the fighters tho its probably fair to still put him around the top 10-15.. but in Hendo's prime he was IMO a top 5 p4p fighter.

Like I said in the MMA thread Rashads only unique asset is his speed/power combo. But noone at 205 can match his hand speed. Machida is just technically superior to everyone in that weight class.
Rashad going for takedowns doesnt change the result IMO. His best bet WAS to get into exchanges.
His flurries are deadly and it was easily his best path to winning. Machida As I said he would do was patient refused on 2 occasions to get sucked in to a backpedaling rashad and passed up the exchanges early. I didnt expect him to Rock rashad so consistently in that round. Once he started he never let up. Rashad obviously has a good chin to go with those hands. Overrated ?? Absolutely stupid to think he is.
Anyways Rashad should be attempting take downs he does have very good wrestling. This wasnt the fight to start it though. Rampage was the only guy at 205 that I thought matched favorably to Rashad. I dont think he matches up well with Machida. Only a Pridelike Shogun would IMO.

Hughes definitely didnt have trouble with Serras BJJ. I thought Serra won. He clearly had that first round. I thought he sqeaked out the 3rd. Not much was going on the ground Serra worked well off his back , neither guy had the other in any real danger outside of the first.

Speaking of guys who have forgotten there wrestling. WTF is with Sherk ?? his corner is retarded to keep pushing for him to box out there. Utter stupidity. Like Rashad he has ONE aspect where hes extremely unique and just better than everyone in his class. Except Sherk absolutely refuses to use it. He deserved to lose with that garbage gameplan.


Lastly anyone putting Fedor outside of there no.1 is batshit crazy. Likely trying way too hard to be unique and trendy with there top whatever list. Hes no.1 its unquestionable. Hes pulverized anyone and everyone put in his way and hasnt lost in over 8 years.

Why because he doesn't hold a belt? That has a lot more to do with Anderson coming into his own, and him being too small for 205. Has nothing to do with him being past his prime.

His hand speed is the only thing that makes him an average striker. From the waist up he's really good. From the waist down he's awful. That = average to me.
