Yes and it proves that shit can happen man. GSP got caught.. he got a little over-zealous and Serra caught him. He absolutely dominated him the next time out. Things can happen when fists are flying.. I dont hold that loss against Georges.. he shows me every other time hes out there that hes nothing shy of a world class MMA practitioner. Hes absolutely dominated some of the best fighters in the world. Hes right up there with Fedor. I wont argue with someone that has Fedor above him.. and I have an admitted bias towards GSP in that regard, but even without bias the guy is arguably the top fighter in the world.

also, when talkind about Hendo, he is a great fighter, but he has not performed well at 185 and was known as 'Decision Dan' for many years, he got some gift wins back in the pride days, but Dan is all heart and will fight anyone at any weight

GSP has beaten better comp than Silva ever has, Silva's best wins are Franklin and he was a TV champ in the worst division at the time and has no big wins, Hendo has never done well at 185 and Nate, thats Silva's 'big' wins

You can not argue against the comp GSP has faced, GSP has only 2 losses in his career and has revenged both of them in brutal fashion

The win over Hughes is better than anything Silva has ever done, throw in Fitch, Kos, BJ X 2, Sherk, etc...and you have no arguement

Funny how you dont say he is one of the most talented, he is a Combat Sambo champ, he has outstruck K1 strikers, subbed wrestlers and pounded out Nog when Nog had the best HW guard in the history of MMA

He has been rocked by 1 punch, that was Fujita than choked him out, got slammed as bad as you can against Randleman and than subbed him minutes later, hasnt lost a round in like 8 years and took out the 2 best HWs the UFC had for years in under 4 minutes

The guy is skilled, his cardio is great for a HW also, his GnP technique is great, full body torque and explosion

I'm not arguing any of that, I completely agree. However, you cannot tell me that Fedor's standup/boxing is technically sound. The guy is lucky that there's not a lot of heavies with solid boxing like AA has.

The guy has some sick power and as you mentioned anything can happen with small gloves. Until he shows some technical boxing then I'm not ready to say that his overall game is relatively perfect. Sure, his style has worked for him, I can't argue that, but we'll see what happens when he starts facing more guys like AA. It's all about matchups and there's more guys that matchup well with Fedor than there are guys who matchup well with Machida.

actually, it is western boxing technically sound, but he has good movement, rarely gets hit clean, he has showed great defense against 'better' strikers, knows how to blend striking and grappling when he needs to

That 3 minutes AA had is starting to become very overblown, he didnt hit Fedor clean at all, it looked really pretty, but he wasnt lighting Fedor up by any means

Machida hasnt faced any top grapplers yet at his own weight, best 1 he has fought is tito and tito's back has not been the same for a log time

He has faced a bunch of guys who like to stand and bang and has beat them, if he can take out Shogun I will be impressed, but I think Shogun will win if they ever meet

Machida was put on his back by a fat BJ, of course he has gotten better at takedown defense, but the majority of guys he has fought wanted to strike with him

Fedor has beaten Top Strikers, Wrestlers, Submission guys etc...
