Nah, I buy a lot of games that EA pumps out, although they have dirty tactics to selling their games imo (but what company doesn't?), I enjoy a ton of their games.

Its just hard for me to take IGN articles seriously, especially one like this, without thinking there is some sort of financial backing. My comment is more of a IGN bashing thing.

I don't understand. You're mad because you paid for it, but there isn't a scenario where you wouldn't pay for it? What do you want them to do? Give it to you for free despite the fact that it cost them money to make it?

I have no problem paying for DLC a couple months later. I'm not totally against DLC like some are here, because it is true, you can add to the game later. But it is a beyond cheap tactic to have DLC ready at the games release.

But that's acting like the day that the game hits stores is the day after the dudes finished it. Day 1 DLC isn't ideal, I'll agree, but it still to date has never made the original product anything less than it is. You could never have bought the Prothean DLC and ME3 still would have played out the same way, just without his rasta dialogue. I don't see how this is a cheap tactic.

It's a fair point, and I personally hate most of what comes out of IGN, I just think that this article in particular is pretty well written and on point. EA is over hated at this point.

Yes, it would have, but we've heard extensively about the Protheans for the first two games. To include this as first-day DLC and not in the original game is a huge disservice to fans of the series.

Yes, the Protheans are a huge part of the ME mythos, but do you actually think that what rasta brought to the table NEEDED to be in the retail game? I understand that the idea of a Prothean made people a little excited because of the narrative, but the end result wasn't anything game changing IMO. Does Bioware/EA not including that (because they couldn't include it) change that? The ending thing should have no bearing on it. I think they should have included it with the retail game, because there are still a good portion of gamers who are not online and won't be able to access it. Also, considering the amount of games that have come out since March, ME3 could have been put off into August and it would still be the only game in its class.

I think that we're getting into an argument that I don't think really matters here and part of it is my fault: you think a reason people don't like EA is day 1 DLC and that's fair. I just don't like that people hate day 1 DLC because I don't think it's that big of a deal.

I do agree that waiting wouldn't have hurt them, but that's easier said than done in retrospect. They didn't know that their ending would incite a fanboy riot.

Tell them to stop continually removing and then re-adding the same features as brand new. This whole gen of console for madden has pretty much sucked. And they did it again this year, taking out a bunch of features. Hell, they spent a year working on enhancing an offline franchise mode that they new they were going to just throw away with this years CC that they've been working on for 2+ years. What a bunch of wasted time and effort. They've fucking changed dev teams 3 times to go in 3 different directions on this gen console alone. If they wouldn't have started with their heads up their asses we would have had a great game by now.

Take that exclusive license away. And FUCK EA. I'm just fucking tired of them removing features, then adding them back in as if they are brand new. The rest of EA's games don't make up for the NFL Football game shit hole they put us in.

Calm down homie...there is a stark difference between working for EA and not caring about the sports shit that they churn out. A lot of that article is about the quality games that EA puts out, most of them not sports related. I'm sorry that Madden or NCAA isn't any good, but I don't give a shit about EA sports, EA is more than just sports.

Without reading the article or any posts here I will say it's simply because they are big business. They create and market games with maximizing profits in mind, not customer satisfaction. They don't give a fuck if you complain about Madden because most people will still buy it and they profit off the game each year. Also, with DLC introduced this gen, they have come up with ways to offer content that should have originally been on the disc as release day or post-release DLC that gamers WILL buy, and with a lack of production costs due to it being downloadable, the profits are even higher. EA is good at making money, simple as that.

That's fine, and it's certainly a reason why people hate EA...I'm just saying I don't hate them for that and the article is pretty good because it realizes that EA is more than just Madden and NCAA (and it makes some pretty good points besides that).

I honestly don't know about the other games but I can see god dam EA's influence in BF3. Rages the shit out of me everytime I start bf3 on the pc and that retarded origin program starts up. Don't even get me started on them not selling it on any other digital media.

Tiger Woods 13 is about the worst example of Day 1 DLC that you can find. When TW13 was released it contained roughly 60% of the available courses. You may say "that's fine, I don't need the bonus courses anyways". Nope. The DLC courses are integral to career mode and if you don't have certain DLC courses, then you have to skip the events that use the DLC courses. As an extra slap in the face, the CPU does not have to skip these events and you basically get left behind if you don't buy the DLC. The "full game" cost upwards of $120 if you bought it and all the DLC on day 1. I believe they even pulled out the Masters Par 3 challenge from TW13 that came standard with TW12. That shit isn't testing the waters or trying to find new ways to make money. That is blatantly nickle-and-diming your customer.

How about them advertising brutality (cuts, bruises etc...) that effects the outcome of fights in Fight Night Champion? These fuckers have it in on release day, keep it in for a few weeks and release a patch that nerfs that shit only to introduce bearknuckle mode as DLC that has the brutality in it. Pissed off a lot of Fight Night fans.
