the credit of the invention of basketball today goes to Naismith, who was born in Canada, grew up in Canada, went to Univeristy in Canada and then went to the US. 5 years after arrival there was about when he invented it.

This kind of offence works, they play the same way in San Jose, Washington, Chicago, Pittsburgh..

All these teams lead in shots for per game. You can't score if you don't shoot, but when push comes to shove you still need to score.

I don't think they are taking bad shots either, I think they should be shooting more. They dicked around far too much on their PP's.

The Red Wings aren't the best team right now, they've had some injury problems and other factors as to why they aren't on top, but the game plan is proven to be effective.

Just seemed like the Team Canada fans were justifying dominating the USA just because of SOG, hits, and attack time. Just pointing out that these are categories that the Wings happen to beat their opponent in almost every single game too, but it doesn't translate to wins, so I'm not sure you can say they "dominate" their opponents. Just a matter of efficiency.

8-1 final. Like Norway, what does this really tell us? Probably not a whole lot. My big hope is this gives the team some confidence, and Babcock seems to have found something with his line shuffle. Staal worked well with Crosby and Iginla, and I like the two big guys (nash/Getzlaf) on the same line
