Wow, so 40 people thumbed up some website's comment, out of the how many million XBL user base? That's a solid enough majority to win the Canadian Government, but really doesn't do much when you apply real math.

Nobody is being an apologist (I love how spastic you fuckin people get) when they say, "it's not a big deal, I'm not a retard and can use the bloody thing". It's not the world's greatest interface, but it's not overly difficult either. You sit here spazzing "OMG WHY DIDNT I GET THAT ADVERTISEMENT" or about having to click through a menu to find something....and other stupidity like this stuff really fucking matters. It's so utterly pathetic. I wonder if your head would just explode if you ever had to deal with something actually relevant in your day?

Then you got all these assclowns storming the internet to complain, thinking it's going to accomplish anything, yet all they are doing is generating free publicity for the company that has pissed them off. How dumb can people be?

And that podcast I would just love to listen to. If its like some of the vsn podcasts I've listened too I'm for sure going to have some moments of facepalming and outright laughter at some of the bone headed points brought up.

The guy made one comment. One of the guys was actually joking because he hardly ever turns on his PS3 and he said something like "Why should I? We all know Xbox is where it's at." And then another guys aid "Yeah, although the dashboard is extremely shitty now." Not some big debate but it just shows you how the MAJORITY of core gamers feel about it.

And that was just a small example from just one of thousands of gaming communities. I think the fact that Giant Bomb shits on it constantly is more damning. Brad Shoemaker said "I'll take the PS3's XMB any day over the Xbox dash now. You can't find shit and you get hammered over the head with ads." This coming from the same guy that would constantly shit on how archaic and simple the XMB was.

But of course, what do they GB guys know? They only play games for a fucking living. Obviously the VSD community is far more versed on the subject.

My point is that this whole move towards ads is horrible and making what is already a deteriorating "service" even worse. Then the usual handful of people come in saying "You;re the only one that has a problem with it. You're just an imbecile." Then I point out that fucking well known professionals in the gaming industry have the same issue. Then of course I get the same typical response "Why do you put some much stock in these guys." I don't know, maybe because they know a lot more about games then this whole site combined? They probably forget more about games in one day then you guys will ever know.

The fact that people that actual know shit, the core gamers, think it's a joke. But unfortunately that group only makes up a percentage of the millions of people on Live. A good chunk of people on Live are fucking CoD fanboys that just know that the dash shows up for a few seconds while they boot up the greatest game ever made...or at least until the next one comes out. Just because Live has millions of subscribers and people continue to pay for it doesn't mean they know anything about it. It's just a means to an end for most people. They pay their subscription so they can shoot virtual people.

I specifically point out GB because if there is one thing they're known for it's their integrity. They don't have to filter what they say. They just say what they want, when they want. Their site isn't littered with ads. Actually, they have ZERO ads, which is funny considering the topic we're discussing. So yeah, I put a ton of stock in those guys. I sure put way more stock in them than a site like IGN. I don't even visit IGN...ever. Mainly because it's pretty well known that every gaming company is in their pockets. Do I agree with everything they say? Of course not. Because ultimately they are opinions. But complaining about the shitty dashboard and pointing out the reasons WHY it's shitty and has gotten worse over the past year or so, is not really an opinion.
