No.

It's not really people "in his religion" It's part of his religion. That's why he willingly aligns himself with groups like Focus on the Family etc.


With Tebow using the NFL as a platform to help spread his relgious convictions/beliefs/evengelize(which he admitted in yesterdays press conference) I think it's a valid question.

But isn't that the same thing with people hating Tebow? HIS religion makes people uncomfortable, so he should stop being who he is when people put a mic in front of him?

I'm not saying he should stop being who he is. I'm saying I'm surprised no one has sat him down and asked him about it on the record.

Tebow and his foundation make a positive impact. Why would you hold it against him what other people do?

Do you not understand that the people in tebows foudnation more than liekly share those intolerant beliefs, as very well may Tebow himself.

I'm not questioning Tebow on the actions of every Christian worldwide, I'd be asking his frame of reference of the Church/sect that Tebow has willingly aligned himself with and is out there activley promoting...and using the NFL to help do it.

I live in the St. Louis area and Kurt Warner did the same thing. The thing is, he wasn't all over TV everyday, so it didn't grate on people as much.

I don't get it though. Tebow and his foundation make a positive impact. Why would you hold it against him what other people do? Cam Newton stole some poor kid's laptop, lied to the cops about it, and kept his dad away from Auburn because of the heat from them most likely selling his play illegally to the highest bidder. Now, everyone loves watching him play. Tebow lives right, helps sick kids, and no one around him can find two bad words to say about him. And half the people who watch him every week actively root for him to fail. Regardless of where anyone falls on Tebow, you gotta admit that speaks to the type of supremely cynical society we live in.

I never suggested that. In fact I said the exact opposite a few posts ago.

Tebow is, I believe, on the record as having said that God has nothing to do with his winning games.

Then what exactly is he thanking God for after wins?

I'm not lumping people of one faith together. In fact I have releatedly said Tebow's particlar sect of evangelical faith is rather intolerant.

I also don't recall many Muslims openly evangelizing in the NFL to where it would be an issue.

This "openly evangelizing" stuff is too funny. You act as if he tells all the reporters in the press conference to stand up, hold hands, and pray the Our Father.

Tebow is a man that strongly believes that a higher being has guided him to where he is at today. That is all. Regardless of whether or not you're religious I just can't fathom how anyone can pick apart his off the field character and personality. Professional sports hasn't had a role model of this caliber since who knows when.

Glen, don't play being naïve or play on extremes to attempt to prove your point. Tebow has said that he is using the NFL has a platform for his beliefs. He's not openly baptizing people (extreme), but instead using his influence and the fact that he consistently honors God in the way that he does he is keeping the topic of God in the mainstream thought. That is called using your platform....he's a living epistle.

How is Tebow supposed to "stop evangelizing" when all he is doing is playing football and answering the questions that he is asked.
