I hate to be a nit-picker, but your numbers are way off on Orton, and actually off on how the Bears did in the seasons he played (I have no clue how you could manage that). First of all, he didn't play at all in 2006, so your 12-4 record should be marked '05. And even then, you need to change it to 10-5, because Orton didn't play in the win against Green Bay that year, and the Bears went 11-5. And in 2008, Orton actually went 9-6 as the Bears went 9-7. So that makes Orton's career record 28-16.

Thanks. I looked over his stats on yahoo.com, just mixed up the seasons and skimmed over them too fast to realize he didn't play in a couple of those games.

Either way, 28-16. Point proven.

I'm not saying that Turner had no input on personnel moves, what I AM saying is that Lovie and Angelo were apparently behind many of the Bears' stupid signings and trades over the last couple of years, and they are more culpable for the lack of talent on the squad. And this isn't just coming from me, this is coming from all manner of Bears beat reporters that know the organization and how it has operated over the last few years.

As usual, not only do you have no idea what you are talking about, but you are completely wrong. Angelo is problem #1, but Turner is no better. Its funny to me how offensive players such as Benson, Berrian, Orton, and even Marc Colombo are pretty good players once they leave Turner's offense. Thomas Jones is still productive in New York. Mushin Muhammad would probably be the Bears #1 WR if he were still on the team. Its hard to put all the blame on Turner, but it is obvious that he has no idea how to assemble an offense.

I thought I explained this in my earlier post: because the offensive line cannot block worth a damn and defenses can get by with just sending three or four guys to rush the passer, Jay Cutler is going to see a lot of secondaries packed with defenders, and there is little he or anyone can do about it. I would chalk that up as something else you cannot put on Turner.



That's it, just stop right there, that's all you need to say. The offensive line sucks. And I will say this again, in the hopes that you will finally understand: ALL OFFENSIVE SCHEMES WORK IF YOU CAN BLOCK PROPERLY.

Are you speaking to someone? I don't understand this point at all. Of course all offensive schemes work if you can block properly. The Bears don't block properly. So does that mean Ron Turner gets to throw up his hands and say "There is nothing more I can do?" Look at the Packers. Their O-line isn't any better than the Bears, and Mike McCarthy will not be confused with Bill Walsh, but even he has fine-tuned his offense during the season and found ways to move the ball.

The one thing I will grant you, though, is that I think Turner is not utilizing what few positive attributes his receivers have well enough. Hester and Knox should not be drag or dig routes, but rather skinny posts, flag and go routes. They do not have the qualities necessary to be successful in running short patters, especially short patterns in the middle of the field.

However, using Hester and Knox as they should be expressly used would make the Bears extremely predictable in terms of route-running, as Olsen and maybe Earl Bennett would be the only guys coming near the middle of the field.

LOL at you going "Jaworski" on us. Please stop. You act as if you have a clue as to what you are talking about. You don't. Instead of focusing on whether a scrub like Johnny Knox is running a dig or a skinny post, how about focusing on the fact that the Bears used a First Round pick on a TE (Greg Olsen), and Ron Turner STILL utilizes Olsen the same was as any NFL team would utilize their free-agent TE. Really, whats the point of selecting a TE that high if you aren't going to do anything different with him than you would with a 7th round TE? Or how about focusing on the fact that Turner has made the three most talented players in his offense (Cutler, Forte, Olsen) some of the worst starting players in the league at their positions?

Again, LOL at your summation of the Bears woes as being "the Bears aren't utilizing Johnny Knox to his fullest abilities". God, you're an idiot.
