Winning or Losing Super Bowls is important in the resume of a quarterback...you can deny that simple fact or try and call it lazy and dated...but it is, what it is. Gronkowski missing that catch gives the man another ring and ultimately, the first thing that will be on the bust of Eli Manning will be 2x (or 3x or 4x, however many he may win) Super Bowl Champion. Its bullet point number one.

Unfortunately, the opinion of Warner2BruceTD doesn't mean anything with regards to a player going to the Hall of Fame...ya know, something tangible in regard to greatness.

And the only rating for rings in the argument among great quarterbacks is right where it should be...bullet point number one. We're not talking about dissecting Mark Rypien v. Dan Marino...we're talking about Dan Marino v. Peyton Manning or the difference between Ken Anderson or Donovan McNabb in or out of the Hall of Fame...they matter and getting one is NEVER overrated and being the most valuable player in the most important game of the season and in ones case, life at that particular point...also, never overrated.

The fact that he was able to lead that team into the playoffs, with their backs against the walls, and then win out against tough opponents in the playoffs, yes.

Getting to 2 superbowls is an achievement in itself. If he played well in this superbowl and didn't win, not on his part, then he's still validated in my eyes.

Eli's day was in the bag, his contributions to the game were over. If the final score validated him in some way in your eyes, i'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. It wouldn't have mattered to me if Brady scored on the final drive or not in terms of judging Eli's performance today. He played an "ok" game and he's still the same Eli to me that he was before the game. An extra ring doesn't change anything, and I don't see why it would considering it wasn't some sort of super performance where the team climbed on his back.

I don't eat the easy media narrative of RINGS. It's part of the profile, nothing more.

He played well.

I don't need the final score to validate that, is my point. To some, had Brady led a game winning drive, Eli is a lesser player as a result. The Pats came up short, so to some, that means Eli is now on a new level. That kind of stuff is mental to me.

Nah i believe they were pointing out the fact that he escaped much like Eli did...that was the only thing that was the same with that play.

Eli did his thing, he made all the big time plays and throws tonight and led his team down the field with that big time drive...his play throughout the night and again in the 4th quarter is what put him over the top for me...even if Brady had came down that field to score again, hail mary be damned.

First and foremost congrats Giants fans. Whenever a big play needs to be made they make every.single.fucking.one and earned the victory.

I want to vomit at how the entire Patriots squad minus Tom Brady collapsed in that fourth quarter. Welker's drop is just not acceptable when you see Manningham make a play that is 10x harder. How the fuck did the offensive line play phenomenally for 59 minutes, and then let the 4 man rush of the Giants get to Brady EVERY play on that final drive?

That play by Blackburn was unreal... thought it was the Patriots chance for some Tyree bullshit, but an injured Gronk and a phenomenal play by Blackburn negated that.

Real quick question...

How is it only a five yard penalty in the final minute when a team has more than 11 men on the field? Just like there's a run off on offense for having a penalty in the final minutes, there needs to be a similar rule for defenses. Hypothetically, you could throw 15 men on the field, double team every WR and waste 10 seconds of the clock and all you have to give up is 5 yards?

It should be a 5 yard penalty plus resetting the play clock back to what it was prior to the play.
