Falcons release Vick

Because if you stopped Vick, you stopped the Falcons because Vick was unable to get his teammates involved (look at Roddy White...bust with Vick, star with Ryan). He couldn't pass. Half the time he wouldn't even attempt a pass, he'd just dance around and get sacked. The entire goal of the opposing defense was to force Vick to pass. Your argument is like the opposite of logic. The defense wants Vick to pass the football, thus Vick is an elite QB. Do you think Vick is the only QB in the NFL whom defensive coordinators 'gameplanned against'? Sheesh.

Most receivers dont adjust to the game right away, Vick got White right away and he dropped more passes then I have ever seen. He started to get his swagger going Vick's last season in Atlanta and by the time Matt Ryan stepped in White had already had a 1,000+ yard season.

White had 1,000 yards because he had QB's who could throw.

Look at Michael Jenkins. Best year of his career with Ryan.

With Vick....meh.

Roddy White was a rookie with Vick, just for starters.

Actually for starters Roddy played two seasons with Vick.

The point is, you know the guy had 6 or 7 guys coming after him every play to get him to the ground.

and Michael Jenkins were not getting open down field.

2. Jenkins gets open downfield now. Ask the Bears.

1. Vick ran because he was great at it. Quit trying to treat Vick like a prototypical passing QB because he wasnt. If you're going into a Vick debate with the mentality that all QBs should play the same then you're obviously going to be bias against Vick.

Yeah because me bringing up Cunningham and Young show that I love the "prototypical QB"

2. Peerless Price was the biggest name WR to ever play with Vick while he was in ATL.

And he fizzled because Vick couldn't throw.

And Joe Horn

And Jenkins

And White

The list goes on.

Not to mention Roddy White became a big name as soon as Vick left.

Horn was signed to help Vick out. That was my point. IIRC Horn was signed before the shit went down around the draft.

EDIT Horn signed in March of 2007.

Name one good QB in NFL history who did not have a single offensive weapon. I got Dan Marino and 2001-2002 Tom Brady (two of the best players the NFL has ever seen) and that's it. And even them two had more talent than Finneran and Price.

White had Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, and Chris Redman throwing him the ball the first season he went over 1,000 yards. Pretty sure White had finally elevated his game and adjusted to the speed of the NFL by then.

Michael Jenkins sucked dick every season up until this year when he realized he was playing for his job. Jenkins stepped up huge this past year and no one in Atlanta saw it coming. Laurent Robinson was the #2 guy up until his injury in the pre season and Jenkins promptly stepped up.

Yeah, his first two years when he was still dropping easy catches and getting punked every play.

Thats debatable, He had a career high in TD catches with Vick. Not to mention he didnt become a starter till 2006 anyways.

To further add to the point of Vick's mediocre WRs.. by the time Horn had got to Atlanta he was widely considered as washed up and far, far, FAR past his prime.. to the point of being released by the the Saints. Furthermore.. he was having hamstring issues and played a combined 23 games in his last 2 years in New Orleans. His numbers: 49 Rec, 654 Yards, 37 Rec, 679 Yards.. you combine those 2 together and they pretty much equal what you'd normally expect from Joe Horn.

So lol @ you being wrong about Horn and Vick playing together.. then lol @ you for trying to flip it like the Falcons were bringing in Horn to help Vick, when in reality they were just grasping at the strings of a vet who they were hoping would be a shell of his former self, which he wasnt even close to being.
