What people fail to understand is this is a grand jury inverstigation on Curley and the campus police director (name escapes me at the moment),not the institution as a whole. McQueary and Paterno were questioned about what they knew about how this situation was handled by these two men, not what actions they took. That's not what the investigation was about.

People are jumping to a lot of conclusions basing it off of a small sampling of what this story is. Also, this new information came from a state official involved in the prosecution. How would that benefit them to lie?

After placing the sneakers in his locker and grabbing the tapes he looked over in the showers and saw a boy, around 10, with his hands against the wall, bent over, with Sandusky behind him having anal sex. McQueary then testified he went to his office to call his father, who told him to leave immediately and go to his house which he did. He notified Paterno the next morning.

Again, why lie to the grand jury under oath. As you said they are investigating Sandusky, Curley, and Shultz.

If he did lie to the grand jury about his side of the story all his credibility went out the window and no one will ever believe a word he says, no matter what really happened. Smart move.

If this information was coming from just McQueary himself, I'd agree with you. However, there was also a statement from a source close to the investigation backing up McQueary's statement, so I guess we need to know why that piece of pertinent information would be left out of the report given the details of his account.

A lot of questions that still need to be answered.

Generally, sexual predators don't see what they do as being wrong, but instead about them caring about kids. Michael Jackson was the same way. I think Sandusky knows he's fucked, so the plan is to admit to some of the lesser charges (child endangerment, inapropriate conduct, ect) and try to deny the killers (sex with minors, child rape, etc).

Maybe the lawyer thought Sandusky might come off a little better and figured it was worth a shot. He ended up coming off more creepy than ever. Sandusky stuttering and stamering for 45 seconds while trying to decide if he was 'sexually attracted to young boys' was pretty disturbing.

Yup.

A lot of child rapists don't see themselves as having a mental illness and they aren't necessarily sexually attracted to children. They see it as some sort of bonding and show of affection toward the children. Really weird mindset. Not all child rapists react to a penile plethysmograph during a "Ludovico’s" session.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The lawyer for accused child molester Jerry Sandusky apparently likes his women young.

Defense attorney Joe Amendola, 63, representing Sandusky in the sexual molestation case roiling Penn State and Joe Paterno’s legendary football program, impregnated a teenager and later married her, The Daily has learned.

According to documents filed with Centre County Courthouse, Amendola served as the attorney for Mary Iavasile’s emancipation petition on Sept. 3, 1996, just weeks before her 17th birthday.

The emancipation request said Mary graduated from high school in two years with a 3.69 grade point average and maintained a full-time job — but makes no mention of any special relationship between her and her lawyer.

Roughly around the same time, however, Iavasile became pregnant with Amendola’s child, and gave birth before she turned 18, her mother, Janet Iavasile, alleged in an interview with The Daily.

He was born in 1948 and was around 49 at the time.

“At the time, I didn’t know the extent of the relationship,” said Janet of when her daughter first began spending time with the attorney. Amendola seemed more like Mary’s “mentor,” she added.

“She met him through the school district; she was interested in the law,” Janet said.

Court records show the two were married on Feb. 8, 2003, around the time her mother says their second child was born. They are now separated, but she has kept his surname.

Since then, Janet said, she has learned to accept the unusual relationship.

“Joe is a very good father and has loved his two children very much, and that’s the most important thing for me right now,” she said.

Mary Amendola, who is now 32, did not return requests for comment, but later emailed The Daily claiming "all of the information is incorrect," though she would not provide details. Joe Amendola did not return multiple requests for comment.

Mary has tried to distance herself from the now notorious attorney — just yesterday, she changed her Facebook name to Mary Christmas. Her friends joked she should make it permanent.

But when Joe Amendola said in a televised interview last night that he would let Sandusky supervise his children, Mary Amendola instantly posted on her Facebook, "OMG did Joe just say that he would allow my kids to be alone with Jerry Sandusky?"

Just to add to this, from what I am reading it's not that uncommon for pieces of one's testimony to be left out of a Grand Jury report.
