i gotta start moving along with the main story. i want to do all the side missions, but they are really getting repetive. every world having the same 1 or 2 layouts doesnt really bother me. Yeah its lame, but not a big deal to me. What really annoys me is trying to drive around in the Mako. now this thing could be sweet with its awesome fire power, but climbing mountains is an extremely tedious task.


without spoiling anything, does ME2 have an improved land rover or somthing


another troubling area for me is the weapons menu. so un organized. i dont mind having to shop at different stores, but i want to be able to view my entire squads inventory while i am browsing. I am trying to buy armor for wrex and i am like, wtf was the stats for his current armor. So i take him with me and another person....but what about the 3 other people. shit, now i am back and forth between the normandy and the shops....going thru elevators and loads.....FML!

i know that blog said they addressed this stuff....but its stuff like this that makes me want to say fuck the side quests and misc discussions and just focus on getting it done. And the game is so great that i dont want to just get it done

I'm pretty sure that I heard that the Mako is out and that that aspect of ME1 is gone (i.e. the sucky planet traversing aspect). I've avoided most spoilers so I don't know what they've replaced it with, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.

I KNEW you would hate the Mako haha. Not that anyone really likes it. I find it to be unbearably both bad and tedious. If it wasn't such a great game in pretty much every aspect, it would have been a dealbreaker for me. There is literally NOTHING worse than trying to get to an Anomaly that's on the other side of a mountain and you get to the very top and it gets too steep, so your damn Mako just drives in place for a second and slowly drifts downward, forcing you to drive back up.

I also hate how you have to drive practically sideways on some mountains to get up them, and it takes what feels like 20 minutes.

I can't stand the damn Mako.

Just finished ME1 for the 5th time and I think I got the story and my choices down par. So excited. After I get out of class at 5 imma go and get some lawn chairs and a cooler and a shitload of drinks and stuff and start a party in line infront of gamestop

Mass Effect 2 Has Some Fancy Disc-Swapping Action

Like many sprawling role-playing games, Mass Effect 2 is coming on two discs. Unlike other two-disc affairs, however, it's taking a different approach when it comes to swapping said discs.

Normally (this of course only applies to the 360 version of the game), you swap a disc halfway through a game. Or, if there's four discs - like there was in Lost Odyssey - you swap a disc roughly every quarter of the way through.

Mass Effect 2 will instead ask you to swap from disc 1 to disc 2 around 1/3 of the way in. You then play the "middle" section of the game using disc 2, before swapping back to disc 1 for the game's concluding stages.

"The decision was made due to the nature of having to go to two discs for what is a non-linear game and fitting the right amount of content onto each of the discs," BioWare's Jessie Houston told IGN. "This way players won't have to swap their discs multiple times during the middle of the game."

Oddly, we've found with our review copy that even players electing to install the game to their HDD will have to perform the above disc-swap routine.

If it was on Ps3, they could make you sit through a 10 min install, while watching the leading character smoke. Then, 1/3 of the way though you could get another 10 mins while it installs! Then one last one for good measure! You have another person playing a different save on your system? Too bad it uninstalls the previous installation, so you have to sit through it not only when they start, but when you go to play again! That would be some sweet ass MGS 4 type shit.

Disc swapping, although annoying isnt any more annoying than the bullshit you have to go through with blurays. They are HUGE so everything can be on one disc, but since the load times are so shit, you have retarded installs to do. The way MGS4 did it was THE WORST.

good points.

i dont mind disc swapping. you cant play a game without placing a disc in the console anyways...so you have to switch. If it means getting an epic game, so be it

Yeah, its my second playthrough, I'm not too worried about it. I just pondered the idea of it.

I mainly want to get my renegade up as much as possible. I'm close to the 75% mark.
