So its Brock's fault that Dana wanted to give a title shot to his most marketable fighter? Dude worked Heath Herring.. Herring didnt have an ounce of offense that fight. Whether Brock rode him or not he deceivingly got that decision. Then he worked Randy.. regardless if whether you say Brock was getting winded.. he was never in trouble in that fight and Randy himself said after the fight that getting hit by those hands was just too much to handle. Of course Randy was going to do his best to contain him.. but it obviously wasnt nearly enough. You cant hate on Brock for winning fights, or for getting caught by Mir. The constant bickering about the lack of quality in the HW division isnt going to change the fact that Brock is the champion or that hes a beast of a man tho. We all know Fedor is the top heavy.. then arguably Barnett.. but its not even fair to say how Brock would fair against any of these guys because they aint never gonna fight.

I never said it was Brocks fault, I actually said in the past (at MM and here recently) that I give him credit for wanting to fight the best and stepping into deep water

The only problem is the UFC doesnt have a good HW division, so the UFC HW belt (all 2 of them) are 2nd tier belts at this point

I think if Brock runs thru a couple guys in the UFC the next year he might even try and seek out Fedor, he obviously likes the comp, but to bad Dana wouldnt have it, wouldnt let Brock fight in another org/co-promote or treat Fedor like he should be treated, oh well\

Looks like Strikeforce is close to signing Roger Gracie, for you guys who dont know, Roger is probably the best submission grappling in the world

World champion submission grappler Roger Gracie and Strikeforce are close to finalizing the terms of a multi-fight contract, the promotion's CEO Scott Coker confirmed to SI.com Tuesday.

"Their lawyer is looking at a draft of what we're doing," Coker said, "but I think we're pretty much done." He declined to provide specifics of the pending deal.

Unbeaten in two mixed martial arts fights, the 27-year-old Gracie is arguably the top submission grappler competing today. In 2005 he captured the ADCC World Submission Wrestling Championships at 98 kilograms, as well as the tournament's prestigious open-weight division. In doing so, Gracie became the first competitor to win each of his eight bouts by submission.

His MMA debut came a year later and featured a first-round armbar against veteran Ron Waterman in Vancouver. Then in May of 2008, the 6-foot-6, 220-pound Gracie finished aging Pancrase star Yuki Kondo, also in the opening period, this time via rear-naked choke in Tokyo.

Considering Gracie's level of experience, Coker said he plans on promoting the heavyweight in the Strikeforce Challenger series, which pits up-and-coming fighters and debuts Friday on Showtime, sometime this autumn against a to-be-determined opponent.

"We're going to see if we can create some awareness with him, see how he does fighting-wise, and take it from there," Coker said. "We're going to give him every opportunity to crossover into MMA. He's going to have plenty of time to see if he really likes to do it."

Wanderlei Silva has told Anderson Silva to put his money where is mouth is ahead of his UFC 99 fight with Rich Franklin.

The two Silvas have had a war of words outside the Octagon since Anderson stated his thoughts about Wanderlei dropping to the 185lbs category on Sensei SporTV, calling the move "pretentious". Since then both have created a tough environment and speculation about a match has grown as they fire verbally at one another.

The latest episode of the series was the announcement of an Anderson Silva/Rich Franklin camp ahead of Franklin's fight with Wanderlei at UFC 99.

The Axe Murderer today shot back: "If Anderson believes in Franklin so much, bet U$ 50,000 and let's see who takes the money".

In preparation for the fight, Wanderlei has trained with great names of the sport such as Xande Ribeiro, Heath Herring, Demian Maia and recently Rafael Cordeiro, his old coach from the times of Chute Boxe, has joined the team.

Together they lived the best moments of their career in Japan fighting for PRIDE. Cordeiro knows Silva over ten years and the confidence of the "Mad Dog" (as he is known in Brazil) seems to be back.

"I go to knock him out. I have trained so much and Rich won't last two rounds. I think it is good Anderson has been preparing him. I hope he is also on the corner. I want to dare him to bet $50,000. I put these amount and Anderson or his sponsors, Ed Soares or Joinha, bet another part. Who wins takes the money," Wanderlei told Gazeta do Povo.

He expects a victory over the former middleweight champion and after that he wants to prove to everybody he is the man to beat The Spider up.

"Everyone wishes to fight the best ones and he is being pointed as the top of the world in all weights so I want this bout and the knockout."

Silva has also invited again former rivals Ricardo Arona and Paulo Filho to train with him in US and revealed his desire of a revenge versus Chuck Liddell:

"I would rather fighting him again but I don't know whether Chuck will be back soon. I think these talkings about retirement is not certain, he will only take a time. Let's see what is going to happen."

Wanderlei Silva versus versus Rich Franklin is the main event of UFC 99 on June 13th at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany.
