[size=-2]So my first year as OC at Texas Tech was an up and down one. I started the year off 7-1 and 2-1 in my conference. Then injuries struck one by one and my offense (AND DEFENSE, FUCK YOU DC) the last part of my season. High point of this year, however, I have a future Heisman winner coming next season. 5 star QB from Texas, who is the 1st overall rated QB and the 2nd overall rated recruit. Other than him, the rest of my recruiting class was decent. 10 or so 3 stars and 1 4 star. We will see how they pan out. I am so happy I left Buffalo, because I happened to look at their roster and their oline looked like this: 62 overall LT, 64 overall LG, 60 overall C, 69 overall RG, and 64 overall RT. They went 2-10 lol.[/size]

Scotty Young scrambles for a TD

[size=-2]Scotty Young put up some huge numbers for the first 8 games. The last 5 games, however, he threw around 10 interceptions. He single handily lost a couple games that depended on his arm on final drives. Brian Joseph came in the 2nd half over Young for the last 3 games. Brewer is terrible, and Roscoe showed promise, but will be widely overlooked as my beast mode QB prospect enrolls in the spring.[/size]

[size=-2]Obviously as a spread passing team, we rarely ever ran the ball. However I slowly tried to push more spread option plays, but they were usually shut the fuck down (partially due to my slow QB). I may try again next season, though. With Williams he is a scat back and I could count on him taking a HB draw 10-15 if I needed it. Overall my situation at RB is good for what kind of a team I have and run.[/size]

[size=-2](RS SO) Marques Thomas was just completely unstoppable for me and I could count on him (usually) for any type of throw. He ended up winning the Biletnikoff(SP) for best WR so I am pretty ecstatic with that. I really did not have a shitty guy this year where I just had to completely ignore him because of how bad he was. I have 7 or 8 WR's on my roster and the lowest catch rating is a 72, so they all can make plays. I don't think I am losing any WR's this offseason, so that is pretty awesome. Especially with the new addition at QB. This upcoming season should be EXPLOSIVE as hell[/size]

Well, Bush had his first game against Akron, and he did very well. Passed for 3 TD's, 1 INT, 306 yds and ran for 78 yds and 1 TD.

Next game? @ #1 Michigan. This is not going to be good lol.

EDIT: FUCK MICHIGAN. God damnit. I drove down the field with 11 seconds left and down by 3, but the I forgot I didn't add the "spike ball" audible to my new playbook. FUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Lost 24-27.

Bush was...pretty bad, lol, but good when it counted. 16/32, 3 TD, 4 INT, 16 rush, 81 yds.

I have very loose rules that I can only convince 1 guy per season, but lately I've just been letting them all go to make it more challenging.

Same here. I will occasionally have a 82-85ovr RS SO or Junior they will declare for the draft after an above average season. A couple years ago my Junior corner who was a 84ovr wanted to declare because he had 8 picks on the season. He had no business leaving, since he was neither fast nor a great coverage player.

Got him to stay by giving up an HR on the 1st try. Also decided that this will be the last season Kent St. will be in the MAC. Next year, they will be moving to the Big East....an AQ conference with tougher competition.

I signed about 4-5 of them and was like alright next year I'll be ok when a lot of my good players leave. I am not ok. On the positive side I have a ton of 4 star recruits at different positions wanting to play for me because I am 4 star prestige and I'm also only graduating 7 seniors. However we are going to probably have a losing record so they might not sign, and if they do, I'll lose a star and be back to recruiting guys who at best will become that guy who made a tackle on special teams.

I should mention I had a chance to leave and get a job else where but decided against it because of those recruits. I may just sim this season since I have no interest in watching my QB get sacked every play and my defense miss tackle after tackle.

Stay the course. You're in Texas, there are always random freakish recruits who pop up. You are only one big recruit away from turning the corner. Also stock up on a bunch of 3-star OL and redshirt them. They will only get up to like an 84 or 85 by their fifth year but those guys are nice to have when you need to fill a hole.

I decided to sim and we went 5-7. Managed land to 5 4 star recruits and my next QB. The guy I have now has been a starter since he was a freshman is now a 96 overall as a senior. I've got at least guys in the low 70's starting at every position for me. I'm hoping my QB can carry us to a 9-10 win season. If I had red shirted him his freshman year, I may have been able to contend for the Big 12 title next season. Oh well. He'll be getting a career retrospective after this season.

Wide receivers are flocking to me. I'm honestly turning away 4 star WRs because I have so many. My passing attack is going to be a force in about 2 seasons.

If I win a couple titles in a row I will leave and go somewhere else to try and build another team.

I think its funny I get a fair amount of 4 star HB interest now despite never running the ball. I feel obligated to at least try to run this season.

I finished the 2015 11-0 (9-0) MAC Champs (4th straight year). All my defensive starters were voted 1st team All MAC Team (as well as my QB,HB, and 1st string WR). HB Canzeri (Iowa transfer) graduated, so I have a SO(RS) starting this year. My D-Line is made up of all Freshmen. I decided to start my fish LE and put my 2015 AA MAC LE to 2nd string. The game only bumped his OVR +4 points, so the recruit still came in at a higher OVR (78). I can already see the difference during the 1st game away at Maryland. They were faster and stronger than MD O linemen.

So far I'm 2-0, I've clownstomped Miami (OH) 52-0 and Bowling Green 49-3. My true frosh QB Sullivan has been pretty decent as a passer, much better than I was expecting, although I am still working out the kinks with Goedden as the Tebow-like QB that comes in as a change of pace. My running game is just too dominant at this point, though I suspect that will change when I start playing better defenses.

I've landed a 4* QB, 4* DT, and a big-time player in a 4* TE. He's 6-8, 252 pounds, with B speed, B+ acceleration, and solid ratings all around. Great pick-up, especially with how much I love a good TE in my system.

Also recruiting a pair of 6-6 5* WR's that I'm currently #1 for. One has A speed, while the other only has B+ speed, but nonetheless they would both be great to land.

QB Controversy :runaway:

In the first game of the new season, my starting QB, Justin Cooper, who is a 4-year starter but has never quite lived up to his potential, goes down with a broken wrist for 7 weeks. In comes the backup, Keith Craft, who is a redshirt junior, and he leads us to a tight victory with 4 big completions on 6 attempts off the bench. He starts the next two games and -- granted it was against two subpar teams in Virginia and Vanderbilt and both games were at home -- lit it up in ways Cooper has never been able to do.

In the past two games (minus the 4th quarters due to blowouts), he is 37-57 (64.9%) with 5 TDs and no interceptions.

As for ratings, Craft is only 1 OVR point behind but actually two points up in THP (94 to 92). Both have 99 THA, but Craft has a slight awareness edge (71-69) while Cooper has a 70-60 speed edge. The extra THP seems to make a difference. I'm tempted to just roll with Craft for the rest of the year and let him develop for his senior season. Only reason it sucks is because I have a stud freshman waiting in the wings as well and I didn't plan on Craft ending up this good. If I roll with this guy for the next freshman won't be able to start until his junior year.

Oh and also Cooper was 16 career TD passes away from the school record, but fuck that, he's not helping the team. When he comes back he can hold the clip board with his good wrist.

[size=-2]It looked liked it was going to be a very good season if you look at the way we played, but that was just a case of playing bad teams. Malcolm Agnew, my star RB, had 750 yards and 9 TD's through the first three games. Then the schedule got tougher, and he became very pedestrian in the next four games. We had a lot of close games, but we just couldn't close the opponent out. My original starting QB, Sean Mannion, would make some great throws, and then make some horrible throws. I ended up benching him after the Washington game, in which he threw 5 interceptions. My offensive line was fucking horrendous. If we had more than three seconds to pass it was a fucking miracle. The receivers dropped a bunch of balls too. That didn't make me happy. Not sure how we won @ Stanford. They were ranked #7 coming into the game, and fell to #25 afterwards.[/size]

[size=-2]Mannion was the better QB, but that stats don't show it, which is why I made the change. Mannion is rated at 88, and Thomas is rated at 73, so it's pretty embarrassing that I had to make the change. Mannion would make some great throws at times, but then he would make absolutely horrific passes. I couldn't take it anymore, which is why I went to Thomas. Thomas didn't really do much better. The one good thing I can say about him is that he was able to throw a very good deep ball.[/size]

[size=-2]Agnew got off to a great start as I mentioned earlier, and was the favorite for the Heisman after three weeks. The next four games he was pretty much a non factor. The next four games he got back to his early season form. He rushed for over 100 yards in those games, including a 200+ game against Wazzu (might of gotten 300 if he didn't get injured). He unfortunately didn't get to play in the Civil War due to that injury. Agnew ended up finishing 6th in rushing, T-4th in RTD, and 3rd highest AVG YPR. He was also 1st-team Pac-12 (only AA). Woods was a solid backup. Nothing special. Anderson was the FB, and 3rd string back.[/size]

[size=-2]Looking at the stats it doesn't seem like we had that many drops. It felt like a lot more. Gwachum was our best WR. He is a slow receiver (84 speed), which made it difficult for him to get open against better competition. Trosin came into the season as the 3rd receiver, but he eventually took over the #2 role in replace of Cooks. Cooks is a good receiver himself, but Trosin was just playing better. Hamlett was a good safety net, like most TE's are. If we had better QB play I fell these guys would of had much better years. They're better than their stats show.[/size]

LOOKING FORWARD

I was actually planning on staying until I figured out how bad the Offensive Line is going to be. We were terrible in Pass Pro this year, and it looks like it's gonna be worse next year. If I were to go by the current ratings, the lineup next year would be 76, 68, 67, 72, 67. I don't want to deal with another terrible O-Line, so if the right offer comes, I'm gonna bolt, again.
