UConn is actively trying to gain acceptance to the ACC as well, per their President. Apparently Rutgers is in the mix for the other spot.

Big East/Big 12 without Texas and OU would be a turrible football conference.

The Big East leftovers and Big 12 leftovers would be a horrid conference for football.

I'm interested to see what some of these basketball schools do...Louisville and Kansas for two. Giant hoops schools that, in the merged conference, look out of place, as I assume the basketball BE hoops teams would go to the A10 or some shit like that.

With 4 "super" leagues, it will be harder for ND to schedule games. This is why they joined the Big East is all sports other than football, because scheduling became impossible.

Someone will bend over backwards to get ND into their league, similar to what will happen with Texas. ND will never give up cutting their own TV deal for home games, but someone will play ball and concede that if it means getting them on board to join their league. Similar to how the Pac 12 is bending over for Texas and allowing them to keep their Longhorn Network $$$.

I meant more as of right now. Depending on how this Super Conference stuff shakes out ND isn't going to give up their TV money or BCS money without holding out as long as possible. Frankly, ND will hang and wait. They will end up joining the conference(if they do) with the greatest dispersal of national teams and what conference has the best combo of recruiting hot beds. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if at some point they look at the Pac12 football wise(Depending what teams are in the New "Super Pac")

Everyone talking about Notre Dame joining a conference and having every other sport in the Big East as a precedent that ND will "look east" I think isn't really true. Notre Dame will do what is best for their football program first and foremost as it's the cashcow. All the other sports will fall in line if and when a move takes place.


Notre Dame will always want as national a schedule as possible for a lot of reasons and they will end up joining the conference that gives them the best opprotunity to do so. Notre Dame will be one of the last teams to move to a conference...if they ever do. I've always said that. Everyone speculating where Notre Dame will end up right now is putting the cart WAY before the horse.

Depending on what teams goes where the ACC, Big 10, Pac12 could all make sense.

Notre Dame won't be making any moves or choices anytime soon at all.

There are more Notre Dame fans in the NYC area than Rutgers or UConn fans.
