I'm going with KJ, still on the fence about Thomson vs JZ

I think Nick can beat KJ, he was opened up in a short fight against Zaromskis which doesnt say much for his surgery, KJ might win by cut stoppage again, KJ makes everyone's face look like a car wreck

Diaz vs Noons - Different fight from the first, fight was at 160 back in the EliteXC LW days, this will be at a better weight for Diaz, Noons has had trouble making 155 his last couple times, so 170 shouldnt be to much, but he is better in the 160 range

KJ was one of the reasons for Nick getting scar tissued removed in his face, I'm not sure how much it helped, Zaromskis opened him up in the first round, KJ has cut everyone up with his fists, Diaz biggest advantage will be cardio, Nick can go 10 rounds while KJ has gotten tired in the 3rd a couple times, but for some reason I think this fight gets stopped again for a cut because Diaz has zero head movement and KJ is the best boxer in MMA, KJ wins it in the 3rd

Kaufman vs Coenen - Not an easy fight for Kaufman like most people think, Marloes has fought at 145 for the majority, she wasnt a big 145er, but still bigger than what Kaufman has faced, Marloes is very good on the ground and is Golden Glory trained on her feet, Sarah has really good takedown defense and some of the best stand up in MMA, she understands distance, footwork and throws the 1, 2 over and over to keep the other fighter off balance

I think what it comes down to is Kaufman just being a better athlete, I got Sarah by decision

Thomson vs JZ - Toughest fight for me to pick, both guys are very talented but both are injury prone and tough to gauge where they are at when coming off injuries, JZ was the nest big thing in Japan and injuries really put a damper on his career, Josh shocked everyone when he dominated Gil for 5 rounds, than he was hurt again and hasnt looked the same, didnt look hgreat against Healy in his last fight

Josh has underrated wrestling when he wants to use it and quailty stand up, if he sticks to a wrestling gameplan he can win the decisison, I think he tries to please the hometown crowd and JZ sneaks away with a decision in a very close fight

Woodley vs Galvao - 2 very good prospects, Woodley is an all american wrestler, Galvao a BJJ champion, what will determine the winner is who can dictate where the fight goes, Woodley with his wrestling and strength can do that, if he wants it standing, it will be standing, Galvao has not impressed as much as he should have in his fights and seems to tire quickly, I think Woodley keeps it standing and TKO's Galvao in the 2nd

He could, he shot a bunch of TD's in the first fight, only scored on 2 of them, KJ got back to his feet quickly the first time, I think Diaz can win, but I don't think his face last long enough to do it, on the street I got Nick, with refs and rules I got KJ

I wouldnt be mad if Diaz won, he is a great WW and I'd rather see KJ fight at 155 if he can make that weight

Bah. Can't even be mad the decision really, but that judge who scored it 30-27 Thomson should be fired on the spot. Even Thomson called them out on it in his post-fight interview. Good fight.

Calvan did look strong, but he fried his arms after that long ass guillotine. He definitely needed to be more active in that third round and he might have taken it. Too much inactivity when he had top position.

Noons lost steam fast. He was fucking Diaz up in round two, but he let Diaz settle back into his game.

I wouldn't go that far. Diaz didn't even bother to show up for the fight conference call. Like I said, Dana alluded to Nick Diaz needing to learn the game and hewre we have a sedated Diaz who mentions wanting to learn the game to make money. He's gotten better, but it looks fishy to me. :shifty:

^kinda makes sense. noons was looking crisp as hell in the second round then just died out afterward.

Some thoughts

Woodley is a beast, Galvao had no chance, Woodley should fight Cyborg or Riggs next and than get the winner of Diaz/Daley if it happens

I thought JZ won the fight, Josh won rd 2, JZ rd 3, round 1 was a toss up, I gave it to JZ for dropping Josh, the 30-27 score was a joke, props to Josh for calling out the judge

Sarah didnt look good, to passive and tried the Greg Jackson wall and stall, she showed some nice GnP finally but Coenen was to slick, sets up a good match with Meisha Tate, that will be a good fight

Noons broke his jaw in the first and hand in the second, he fought hard but gassed out in the 3rd, he was lighting Nick up in the 2nd and when the cut opened I thougt we were going to get another stoppage, it was a quality striking match for MMA, there was jabs, headmovement, bobbing and weaving, angles, etc...but it did slow down in the 4th and 5th, they threw a massive amount of punches, a little sloppy at the end

Noons needs to cut his hair, he said he would for his next fight

I think Nick won rd 1, Noons rd 2, 3 was a toss up, Nick round 4 and another toss up in the 5th, tough to score, either a draw or Diaz winning, Noons gets screwed by judges because he throws a lot of body shots and they dont seem to score them, he was connecting on those a lot

Hopefully KJ will go back to 155, some good matches and he wont be so undersized
