i like it cause it reminds me of rpgs like ff and stuff but evolved. it has the customization and cool secrets to find and good variety of monsters and lands. also the challenge is good cause really once you figure out the patterns its not too incredibly hard but it gives a challenge. also the different charcters really make a difference on how to beat enemies and bosses.

This game intrigues the shit out of me. So it's like a hardcore evolved dungeon-crawler action game with RPG elements that happens to be hard as fuck. But no story?

Not sure how legit it is, but the super cool and knowledgable buy at Best Buy that I see all the time said that Bandai-Namco really fucked a lot of people. Apparently they called a ton of retailers YESTERDAY...Best Buy, Amazon, Gamestop, etc and told them that they were not going to be able to even come close to the pre-order demand. So, not only will a ton of people be in the cold today but it sounds like they will probably miss out of that free upgrade to the CE.

Hopefully they make good on this.

I get so lost wandering around. Made it to this bridge with a huge beast of a monster with some sort of club. I had absolutely no chance at him.

No idea where to go or what to do but I'm loving it.

just picked it up. Gamestop gave me the CE even without the preorder which was nice.

the CE is rather cool. The tin it comes in is gonna make a nice decoration. Installing to the HD now

I beat the tutorial boss easily but have been stonewalled by the Taurus Demon so far.

Heard a lot of people beat him by making him jump backwards off the bridge, might have to do that just to get past him. Pain in the fucking ass. I thought the Belfry Gargoyles were the first "real" boss? Am I going the wrong way? If this guy is this hard I can't even begin to imagine what the rest of the game is going to be like...even just getting to him is harder than it would have been in Demon Souls (gonna call it DS1). Those packs of 3-4 skeletons would have been groups of 1-2 in DS1 and they can surround you quick.

I'm loving it so far. I might reroll to a Hunter or one of the casters though. I sucked ass as melee in the DS1 and I'm not doing much better in this one. I picked Warrior to start.

i started with the pyromancer class. not only does he look cool, but its the only class that starts at level 1 and still has as many or more skill points then the other classes. Plus you get the fireball spell.

what gift did you guys choose? i took the black bomb thing. unfortunatly i used them up trying to learn the controls :shifty:

Not really true, at least in the beginning. Unless you have ungodly skill you are pretty much forced to go a certain way at the start. One path has 2 skeletons that are very difficult at the level you come out of the tutorial at. Two other branching paths have knights that rape you if you get anywhere near them. I haven't seen any other paths yet.

Yeah, that's what I meant originally. I think they kind of want you to go one way to start off which makes sense since it's so early in the game.

This is showing how huge this game is because I don't think I know where you are at all! "way of the white" doesn't ring a bell.

From the first bonfire I went right and up a bunch of stairs, through a bunch of skeletons, past a poisonous rat, and into a bunch of towers.
