So, outside of Trisha, I did not really enjoy this episode that much. It was okay, but I think that I may be over Dexter. The exploration of his character has come full circle and really nothing has changed, and now it seems like they're setting it up for seasons that are idea focused (i.e. - Dexter vs. Religion). I hope that I'm wrong, but after last season I just feel like Dexter will never be caught, and likewise no one in the Miami PD will ever question the ever growing missing persons list.

I guess I am flat bias, but i just don't agree with you guys, while I thought Season 5 was no on par with Season 4, it was more because of how badass season 4 was not that 5 wasn't good, and this show is still great to me.

Agreed, I was really disappointed with the shit ending 24 got after they didn't get a chance to write the final season knowing it was the final season.

O, listen, It's not that I dont think he doesnt deserve a raise after ratings like that but obviously it's a bad idea to throw your show in limbo because you want more money. This is why I hate actors these days, they put money in front of the good of the show

This is TV negotiation 101. Both sides claiming they won't budge, because at this stage they don't have to. Hall has all of the leverage, he's set for life and probably tired of doing the show. The record 2.2 million who watched S6E1 puts the ball firmly in his court. Showtime will give him the $4M, or at minimum sign him up for one more season to wrap this dying dog up.

This sums up my feelings pretty much exactly. I feel like we've been shown pretty much every aspect of Dexter's persona and that the whole religion thing (which is very apparently going to be a huge theme) is very forced and irrelevant. Any development to make me interested about the new killers was practically nonexistent. I'm just not feeling compelled to watch.

I have to say I thought last nights episode sucked ass. When Quinn is the second most likable character on the show, you have problems.
Agreed 100%. Particularly with Homeland being so awesome 3 episodes in, Dexter is rapidly something I watch to pass the time before Homeland. It's on in the background and every now and then something will get me to look at the screen, but most of the time I'm fucking around on the internet. It's just been very boring and I have practically no interest in what might happen.
Specifically, the end where Dexter drops his slides and they're mixed up? I feel like the writers thought that that would be some hugely profound moment. My reaction was a resounding, "meh". Felt like that was the sign I needed to say that I'm not only getting bored with the show, but also the character.
