Just a guess but I think maybe she did that all on her own so Dexter would be believe it was someone else. She was the one driving Zack home too, but I've been wrong before. I always thought it was weird that we never saw any brains from the guy we assumed was TBS. All we saw was high heels and a stabbed woman in a safe.

Remember season 1 when Dexter liked Rita because she was too broken to have sex and he was completely asexual so they'd just sit on the couch eating pizza? Then like 4 seasons later there's a scene played for laughs where he gets a beejer from some random floozie at his HS reunion?
