He should of done more, I don't think anyone is disputing that. What everyone is arguing about is Joe's blame vs the othe administrators.

Everyone is assuming Paterno was privy to every single accusation laid out in the 23 page report. Fact is, he was only associated with one. We don't know what he knew.

I want the man to explain himself.

Is there honestly anything Joe Pa can say to make you feel like you would blame him less? Honestly? Like really, without any bias, what can this guy SAY thats going to explain himself? Theres no fucking viable explanation for not doing more, and I know whoever is writing Joe Pa's "speech" for him isnt going to be stupid enough to even imply Joe Pa should've ignored it. Its all epic levels of damage control at this point.

Not true. No one has said Paterno knew of every single detail written in the report; however, commonsense would lead to believe he knew of at least one event, which given the nature of the situation it should have been enough for him to do more than just pass it up the chain of command (which is laughable considering he's Joe Paterno and is PSU).

This is the part where the two sides on this forum differ. Some believe the crime happened and all involved played a role in letting it happen, while others want a power ranking list of responsibility and "who knew what" before making a decision.

With the way Paterno has a hold on that campus and that program, he'd have to be totally senile to not know what was going on for over a decade. He can't fall on that.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he just passed the buck and figured the others would deal with it.

This doesn't excuse his inaction in recent years when Sandusky was seen in his buildings and his practices, sometimes with a boy, even. What the fuck?

Nahste has repeatedly said/implied/questioned how could JoePa not know about all the other incidents on campus. FeEx may have implied the same thign as well. Can't recall. A lot of people are lumping all these events together as if JoePa knew about all of them.

Frankly, I want to read the Grand Jury testimonies and examinations. The summation is fine but I want to see what was asked and what the answers were.

Given Joe Paterno basically has total power at PSU I find it hard to believe he wouldn't know of an assitant coach (former or current) doing inappropriate things with kids in the PSU locker room.

And if Joe Pa wasnt the face of PSU, and had so much pull at PSU, that cunt hair wouldnt have had to exist and Paterno probably would've retired 10 years ago, if not longer. But whatever, I dont have a problem with Joe Pa coaching as long as he did, but theres no denying that Paterno is the most polarizing figure at Penn St with A LOT of power, power he could've used to likely save a lot of young buttholes. A lot of guys could've saved a lot of young buttholes. This has been the point all along. Joe Pa is just one of many, hes just getting the most talk bcus hes the figurehead AND bcus theres people in this thread going out of their way to play devils advocate.

Frankly, I have a hard time believe he did know or was told if it wasn't asked and brought up in the Grand Jury. I have a hard time believing a prosectuor would go through the motions enough to put together an investigation that produces a 23 page document but wouldn't ask the biggest fish in all this if he knew about all the other allegations.

Is it possible JoePa was asked about these and lied about hearing about them? Of course.
