Alex Smith: 20 of 31 for 226 yards and two touchdowns, and 2-0. Haters gonna hate...Niners gonna win. WHO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?!

CJ had a goal for having 100 yards receiving in every game this year. Not happening on our watch..

Stafford was garbage and the defense was awful, especially when it counted. Giving up first downs on 3rd and long three times is inexcusable. We are never going to be real contenders until we can make a basic defensive stop.

Regardless of which team you root for the refs were god awful that game. SO many missed calls for both teams. How that is not a penalty on Alex Smith when you can breathe on other Qbs and they flag you is beyond me.

The first one hinted at it, but the one where the caveman is a cheerleader, they clearly spell it out for you who Orakpo is. Funny thing is that I always thought that commercial was local to just MD/DC/VA

Some of those passes by Stafford were so bad even I was yelling at him. The pick by Goldson wasn't even CLOSE to anyone in blue.

The officiating was horrid tonight...the PI early, the missed roughing call, all kinds of garbage. glad the niners walked away with the W. i do have to say that alex smith has looked much much better so far this year. he's making smart reads, making solid decisions at the line and he's looked pretty damned good so far. he does need to be better when it comes to pocket presence, dealing with pressure and knowing when to take a sack so he doesn't lose 10-15 yards every time. I would also like to see some more varied play calling on 3rd and short, don't just line up in the jumbo and run it. try play action from the jumbo, or spread the field and give alex smith the chance to look at the defense and make the decision whether to run it up the middle or throw a quick pass. I think at this point, the niners are deep enough at wr/te to make that kind of play call work.

that being said, hard to complain about being 2-0 to start the season after playing two playoff contenders. nobody's got it better than us.

I forgot what 49er fan on here I use to get into it with all the time about Smith (might have been St. Francisco?). I told them that as soon as Smith got a decent coach and stability that he would do well and they said I was just being a homer. Not saying he'll be a probowler or anything like that, but how he's playing now, is how I felt he could all along.

Went to Sunday Night Football. Say what you want about the city of Detroit, at least Ford Field isn't as big a shit hole as Candlestick. The fans there were douchebags too, although I don't give exclusivity to Niner fans for being douches. I think most fans these days are douches. It's like buying a ticket to a game gives you a right to be a complete fucking asshole.

Things overheard in line:

"Harbaugh is going to knock out Jim Schwartz. He's like 6'4, 220, you don't fuck with that guy"

"Yo, man, I'm a Packers fan, but I'm wearing a Barry Sanders jersey"

"Lakers, man.......Lakers.........Howard and Kobe all day"..............me: Wtf?

Some chick in a Niners jersey cuts in front of some chick in a Lions jersey and then started screaming, "back off bitch, I will cut you!"

the redskins fans should be more upset about the bad call by the refs. imo, this should have been a flag on both players. The ref is standing right there and sees finnigan push his head back. But they decide to call it one way instead of offsetting flags.

Joe Flacco was right when he talked about the integrity of the game. These officials seem to be having way to much influence on the final score of the games.

That could have gone either way, and both players should have been flagged. It was a terrible thing for that game to essentially hinge on that call (obviously the FG still has to be made.)

Rams will gladly give the Redskins offsetting penalties for the Finnegan/Morgan play, if the Redskins give us back the Steven Jackson TD which he clearly scored but wasn't given, and the personal foul call on RGIII on third & long (which was the worst penalty call i've ever seen in my life) which kept a TD drive alive and changed the momentum of the game.

That first quarter was an embarrassment.

As a sidenote, I don't blame the replacement officials. The real officials are just as bad. The replacements have been fine, all things considered. They are under a microscope and people are looking hard for reasons to complain.
