so your saying this is the first time Wade Phillips yelled....LMAO!!
that guys is a pile of mashed potatoes
I doubt it's the first time, but it's hard to imagine him "losing it".
Anyway, some morning-after thoughts.
-Romo did exactly as he should have after that disaster last week. Instead of forcing passes when no one was open, he took the sack or just went upfield for some yards. The more he does that, the more comfortable he'll be.
-And that's a direct result of the running game. Massive offensive line + 3 starting caliber RBs - divaish WR = RUN THE FUCKING BALL GARRETT!!! Had he had this mentality, we'd have won easily last week. If teams are gonna dare us to run, we should ram it down their throats until they make us stop. And again, the more we do this, the better it is for Romo, because it opens up the playaction, which he excelled at back in '06.
-That said, Garrett is great at drawing up plays and creating mismatches, but he outsmarts himself way too much. I can understand that one fade attempt at the goalline to Roy (which he should have caught), but why try it two times in a row? Not like Carolina could have stopped another gut punch from Choice. I think if Barber is playing, it's a no brainer that he punches it in there. I think Garrett might actually turn out to be a decent HC, so long as he isn't the one calling plays. I love the plays in the playbook (especially the fact that he's finally starting to fake teams out with the constant draws), I just hate the execution.
-Keith Brooking; where did that fire come from? Dude was acting like a young player out there, and I loved it. We might actually have a spiritual leader on the D now. He got them pumped. Kudos also to Olshanksy, who is doing what we brought him in to do.
-Mike Jenkins gets hated on so much (all stemming from that one whiff against the Giants last year) but this guy's a legit corner and a ballhawk, and he's starting to prove it. Likely would have had another INT had Muhammad not pushed off on that one play. As far as Newman goes, good rebound game. This defensive gameplan goes to show that our boys should be in the WRs faces constantly. We weren't giving them anything in the second half and the defense looked completely different. I hope we use a similar plan in that Giants' rematch, because Smith and Manningham won't torch us again if that's the case.
-Jason Williams can't get healthy fast enough. I'm so sick of Barbie Carpenter, who's best attribute is raising his arms on third down to get the crowd fired up. Can't tackle, can't shed blocks, and can barely cover. What purpose does he serve?
-Good game by Roy Williams, but he needs to catch that jumpball when it's thrown to him. I've noticed in this game and the Giants game, he was open quite a bit. Hoping as we go along, Romo notices it more. I'm not as down on him as most people are.
-Are we decoying Martellus? He hasn't gotten a lot of looks thus far.
-Ratliff = Beast
-A bit concerned about Ware. He's getting close, but hasn't been able to seal the deal. Also, until that last drive, he and Spencer hadn't gotten any plays off all season. I hope what Butler showed is a sign of things to come because those guys are gonna need rest once in a while. I think more sacks will come as long as we keep the defensive gameplan we used in the second half.
Stuff it down the Broncos' throats next week. We should see similar results.
