beat louisville when people said they would not, beat uconn when people said they would not now they get to listen to 48 hours of how they will not beat unc and then walk into a 95% green crowd with a chance to lift up a city and a state that needs it. A state and city that is an underdog itself lately.

In the era of players like TO, Allen Iverson, etc how the hell can anyone hate or even dislike Hansbrough? Kid just plays hard. That's all. Is it pretty? No. But he gets the job done and plays the game clean.

Sure there are quirks about his game you can rip on(his deer in headlights look) but not sure how that can make you dislike him as a person/player?

Possibly because he is a good player who doesn't play on other teams that people like. People are always going to dislike someone for one reason or another. JJ Reddick is another good example when he played for Duke, why hate on him? Because he played for an elite program. Hansbrough is just too goofy lol.

Reddick I understood a bit.

Kind of came off as a cocky asshole with smirks and shit like that. Talking trash to the crowd on occasion etc. Was the amount of hate he got deserved? No. But I could see why some would dislike him a bit.

Hansbrough I just don't see anything to dislike about the guy.

I suppose I should ammend my statement. There is no rational reason to dislike Hansbrough.

I don't like hearing about him. I don't like his game. I don't like his little raptor arms. I don't like his potential in the NBA.

I can't say I dislike him as a person because I don't know him. I'm sure he's a nice kid. I don't hate him. But, I will enjoy not having to hear about him all the time.

I hate Hansblow

he's not even the best player on his squad...I hate how he commits offensive fouls nearly everytime down when he bowls into his defender yet gets the benefit of the doubt, 80% of the time. ugh.

That's why I can't wait to see him in the NBA...if he makes it. I'll be smiling when he tries that garbage against the likes of Josh Smith and other athletic PF's. He'll only make it as a pick and pop guy and a good 4-5 rebounds off the bench.

Only thing i like about him is he does work hard...other than that, hansblows.

How many times have you heard about him this year? Other than when he was breaking records, he was brought up very little due to the emergence of Lawson and Ellington's consistant play.

If you don't like his game, you don't like college basketball.
If you don't like and respect hard work, being alive really isn't for you then.

I didn't like hearing about him last year, either. And, like I said, he shouldn't have been player of the year over Beasley.

Hansbrough put up 22 and 10 last year, his best year statistically. He didn't score below 13 points all season and never grabbed less than 6 rebounds in a much stronger conference, while being the best player on a team that lost 2 games before tournament, won both the ACC regular season and tournament championships, and went into tournament as the #1 overall seed.

Beasley put up 26 and 12, which is better.

He also led the nation in:

Rebounding
40 point games
30 point, 10 rebound games
20 point, 10 rebound games

AND broke Carmelo Anthony's freshman record for double doubles with 28.

Beasley also took a Kansas State program that has sucked at basketball since I've been alive to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament with Bill Walker, a bunch of nobodies, and a high school basketball coach. That's more impressive than leading a loaded Tarheels squad coached by Roy Williams to the Final 4 WHERE Hansbrough and company got crushed by a Kansas team that Beasley lit up twice and beat once.

Beasley was a better player. Hansbrough played on a better team. Everyone knows that.

exactly though...Beasley was surrounded by Bill Walker and a bunch of nobodies, while Hansbrough was doing it all while sharing with Lawson, Ellington, Green, Ginyard, and Thompson. He was the best player on the best team and put up close to the same numbers that Beasley did against harder competition, with a more stacked team to share the ball with. Still not a legit reason to hate him.

no but last year going into the tournament, it was pretty clear that UNC was the best team...hence their #1 overall seed

Yeah, and they got killed in the regional finals by the real #1 team.
