Rampage is just terrible. This is the stupidest version of the show in recent memory, and even if the fight was happening this year, would have done nothing to hype me up. He just looks like a guy who wants to rag on lesser fighters, makes terrible jokes, and can't back up the trash talk.

Yeah i've said before its pretty obvious he's just there for the paycheck. "Im not a coach, im a fighter" Yeah well you could help your guys out a little more.

I actually came into this season a bit hyped. Not certain why, but I figured it would be interesting. Hasn't been. I care just as little about this season as the last couple.

I think when he raised his arm back up (which was prob just his body convulsing) Herb thought he wasnt out. Evidently dude was out like the lights.

again, i openly admit i know next to nothin about ground attacks and defense but if dude is on the ground essentially motionless not tryin to get out of a submission shouldnt the fight end? when Sims's arm just happneed to move alil bit it wasnt like he was mounting some big attack, he was done.... just seems like the ref let that go waay to long and dude could have been seriously hurt...

Yeah I dont think Herb was too happy with himself either, he was kind of in a tough spot there. You could tell he was having a hard time figuring out if Simms was out or not.

Simms tried to play tough guy the first few times yanking his arm away, then it just went limp ,lol tough guy shouldve tapped.

K1Mb0 is teh oWnZZZ. U R RITE!!! Surely someone is going to get hurt, i havent watched many seasons of TUF other than the first one but is it customary to keep a backup around? I remember one time someone got hurt but they called a guy back after he was sent home on one of the seasons. They didnt just keep the extra around training with the teams.

Read today that Rampage had a policy in training where guys don't tap. Apparently a number of guys passed out in chokes in training as a result.

Yeah im pretty sure the losers have always stayed in the house.. just they never promoted it like they do with Kimbo. Matt Serra's training partner lost really early in the show and there was some controversy cause he wanted to leave the house after he left.

We always said to not tap to chokes, just keep fighting and pass out if it happens, because some guys panic and think they are going out and you usually have a little more time to fight it and might escape

One time this guy tapped out to Frank from a rear naked choke pretty quick, Frank turned him around and slapped him in the face and said 'Dont tap to that ever again' or soemthing like that

Chokes are actually pretty safe, for years guys have been passing out in Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, MMA, etc..comps for years

Joint locks are a different story, you should tap because you can really get hurt

This is why guys sometimes wait a couple of seconds before they really crank on a lock, to give the guy a chance to tap. With chokes, you see guys squeeze as hard as they can, and sometimes they wear themselves out doing so when they don't put the guy to sleep.

yeah, guys always gas there arms out on failed guillotine attempts, also arm triangles

armbars are quick taps, leg locks for some reason dont hurt quickly and you actually tap to late on them and have a high risk of injury

I can see that, it was just two or three seperate guys on Rampage's team have come out with that opinion. You'd think they'd be used to that from their training back home, so I was under the impression that this was excessive

I thought that going out cold due to a choke in an actual fight results in a fairly lengthy medical suspension...? Which would be one reason to tap rather than just go out. Not so much on a show like this, but for a competitive fight.

I think getting KO'd is what leads to the medical suspension. In fact, I know thats the case. Not sure about getting put to sleep, but I dont think so.

I dont think there is a suspension for getting choked out

even if there was, guys at the UFC level dont fight that often anyway, the thought was always, if you tap its a loss, if you fight it and dont tap you have a chance to escape and still win
